    Default Indiana 2012-2013

Summer is just about over and speech and debate will soon be back in full swing! Let's get predictions going for the 2012-2013 season. Which returning individuals will be the most competitive this year? What teams will take home the team trophies weekly? Good luck to all this year. Let the predictions begin!

In US Extemp, there were definitely a lot of strong juniors, namely Michaila Nate and Emma Hong. They can probably be expected to dominate this year! From the final round in USX, Kelsey, Paige, Bill, and David all graduated, so Emma and Michaila the only two left from the final round.

    Default New Sectionals!

I think the new sectional groupings will have a great effect on this year's postseason. 8 sectionals. Only 6 (not 7) qualify per event. Class AAA is a toss-up this year, as Fishers, Ben Davis, and North Central are in a period of transition. We have tripled the roster at Noblesville, and I'm looking forward to kicking off a competitive season on November 3rd!

I think Munster will win another championship. The squad is just too large--and talented! Plymouth will be a Top 3 team, and I think Culver will round out the Top 5.

    Students to watch:

Ben Davis: Eric Ehizokhale (IX) & Michael Whiteside (INTERP)
    North Central: Eddie Satchwill (IX/IMP)
Plymouth: Michalia Nate (EXTEMP/IMP) & Pauline Dagaas (POET/PROSE)
    Burris Lab: Christopher Gonya
    Fishers: James Whelan (OO)

Those are just a few...I know there are many others out there! Also, I really hope I don't have to sit through numerous duos of The Hunger Games...

Best wishes to all for a great season!

    Default Whole new ball game...

I was surprised, too. And many of you will notice that your sectionals look pretty different from last year. For example, Section 5 is now Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, Westfield, Maconaquah, Oak Hill, Tipton, Marion, Logansport, Peru, Hamilton SE, Hamilton Heights, Northfield, and Anderson.

Those displaced from Section 5: Park Tudor, Brebeuf, Muncie Burris, North Central, Kokomo. North Central was the Section 5 champ in 2012.

It's a whole new ball game this year, folks! I believe there are at least 8 new teams that either renewed their charters or just joined the NFL...so a bit of new blood, too!

Also, Ben Davis, North Central, Brebeuf, and Speedway are welcoming new coaches.

Wow, this is either going to be wonderful or horrible. Is there a list of who's in what section somewhere? I'm curious/worried/excited.

We should be able to have a list out by the middle of September. We're still waiting for everyone to pay their annual NFL dues.

First weekend of the season is over. Thoughts, anyone?

Fishers swept Noblesville, breaking one or more people to finals in almost every event. Not much of a surprise considering how talented they are and how big their team is. Congrats to Fishers.

Well, we're almost past our first month of competition. Does anyone have any thoughts on what they've seen so far? For the sake of getting this thread moving again?
