Following the previous poster, here's my predictions for Division III. Sorry I can't go into as much detail.

Overall, TPA, CPA, and River Valley will take top 3 with BASIS Schools absent.
Both LD and PF will be fought between CPA and TPA, and policy will likely be PCDS and CPA.
Limited Prep will be CPA and TPA with a few outsiders from smaller schools.
Interp will be River Valley along with Great Hearts with a few people from other places (Winslow etc.)
My centre is giving way, my right is in retreat; situation excellent. I shall attack — Marshal Foch, WW1

    Default Predictions for Nat Quals

I am just wondering who you all think is going to take qualify this year in PF and IEs. Just wondering for some more opinions.

PF will be Dyer-Liang very likely, and from there a tossup. I think teams that have good shots are the top 2 BASIS Scottsdale teams, Insert random desert vista team who's pretty decent, or maybe someone from the Great Hearts Academies. This year has been weird and quals will be weird as well, especially considering the drop 2 and out format, so a decent team can end up out early if they get screwed with judges.

I don't know much about I.E. except for Extemp.
I don't know who's going in IX vs DX, but my money'd be on these:

    Lyubov Kapko
    Sadie Lebow
    Carlos Ochoa
    Kohi Gill

    Then, either
    Jenny Chen
    Joel Guy
    Katherine Wu
    Cassandra Sungha

Some PF teams that won't disappoint: whoever Dustin Guo is with from Hamilton, Heidi Artigue/Anita Ramasawmy from Chaparral (if they go), Corrine and Prianka from DV, and Lee/Lee from BASIS Scottsdale.

I think any of those teams has a fair chance to qualify, and given that it's nat quals some teams I didn't list will probably qualify as well.

For pf, I think that Hamilton Guo-Sadler will definitely qualify. DV Carlton-Kumar, Chap Hosseini-Huesing, Chap Dodell-Bassett, Chap Huesing-Holloway, and Chap Ramaswamy-Artigue can all make it to the paneled rounds if they compete. There will also probably be a few other teams that get byes and make it to rounds 5/6.

For extemp, Kohi has the auto. That leaves Sadie Lebow, Chris Jordan,
Lyubov Kapko, Joel Guy, Cassandra Sunga, Katherine Wu, Aaron Madsen, and Jenny Chen for the last 6 spots in IX/DX. Samir Reddy and Carlos Ochoa will place and, if they somehow don't qual in another event, qualify in extemp.

Extemp is going to look relatively similar. Sadie and Chris will do DX and if Ochoa doesn't get the nod from Congress, he'll probably do that as well. IX is going to be Lyubov and it seems open from there. I'd agree with the previous post in terms of the extempers they list. All are solid speakers and have the potential to qual. LD looks like it's going to be Brophy dominated but people like Samir, Chris, and Jack my pref other events, that still leaves Chotolla and Coltin, both of whom are very talented. Some non-Brophy LDers that could qual could be Angela Zhang and Ben Smith just to name two. I'm sure there are more. In OO, Jack Flynn, Patrick Johnson, and Austin Kennedy come to mind, but I'm not familiar enough with OO to really know the event in depth.

Congrats to everyone who'll be representing us in Birmingham this summer! I think that Arizona will really represent. Good luck to everyone!

I'm pumped for Arizona too, but Liang-Dyer got screwed. Every year there's one really dominant team in the state, and this year it was them. It's a shame that the final round at nat quals didn't get paired differently. I'm really excited for the 3 teams that qual'd, but honestly, Mesquite LD would represent Arizona better than anyone else in the state (except Ansari-Miller???).

That being said, Ramaswammy-Artique is looking really good right now. I think they're the best sophomores in the state, and they're bound to have lots of success next year, and tons of success the next.

Dustin Guo got really unlucky, he hit Liang-Dyer round 2 and then unfortunately we hit him round 3 so he dropped early even though he was one of my picks to qual.

One of the teams that hasn't really gotten much attention yet but deserves more is Basis Scottsdale Iyer-Gupta. We hit them Round 5 and just barely skated by on a 2-1. That was the toughest Basis Scottsdale round we've had yet, and I think they'll do really well next year. I'm a big fan of all the Basis Scottsdale teams, they're all really nice too.

I think the top teams in the circuit next year (in no particular order) will be:
    Hamilton Guo-Sadler
    Brophy RK
All Basis Scottsdale Teams are good (I like Lee-Lee and Iyer-Gupta the most)
DV Carl-Kumar, maybe another DV team if they go to NDF or something
    Chap Artiswammy
and I'm hoping myself and Peshkin will be good next year too

I probably forgot a few, but I think that's a pretty accurate picture of what the PF circuit is gonna be like next year.

Time for a AZ 13-14 predictions thread?
