These are just a few of the names I can remember from big tournaments so far this year in MO. I've seen most of these pieces and they are ALL very legit. The names I listed have been/ will continue to be finalists in the tournaments they attend this year. Feel free to add names and discuss about the ones already listed!!!!!!!

Bailey Norton and Michael Cohen are definitely the bigger competition. Bailey is a very talented performer and I am glad to say I am friends with her

    Cool

Yup Yup me too. And I agree. Not to take away from the other competitor's listed though, for example: At Nixa Michael Cohen got 4th to some people on here listed. Have you heard of/ seen anyone else on this list other than Michael/Bailey? If so, what did you think?

No i haven't, but i went to William Chrisman this past weekend and some some REALLY good HIs from the following people.

Allison Korn Blue Springs (Semis at William Chrisman)
Bryson Kenworthy Raytown South (1st place at William Chrisman)
Tori Citro Liberty North (2nd Place William Chrisman)
??? Blue Springs (3rd Place William Chrisman)

The last girl i forgot here name, but her piece was HYSTERICAL. It was "the great american trailer park muscial" and she played the character SO WELL! Allison Korn was amazing and to a shocking suprise didn't make the final round. She had the best developed interp at the whole tournament, but she just didn't have one of those LOL pieces and that really hurt her in sems. Bryson Kenworthy's Piece was just plain hyrsterical and his characters were played really well, but they didn't have much development. Tori citro's piece great and she made it come to life and it turned out really well. So yeah that is what i saw at chrisman.

    Thumbs up

Allison Korn made it to semi's at nationals, If im not mistaken. I hate to see a really good HI get knocked down just because they aren't drop dead hilarious. It's happened at a few of the tournaments I've been to also. You'll have one hilarious piece that either has really bad tech or no plot beat a wonderful piece that just doesnt get as many laughs. It all just comes down to judges preference, I guess. Btw, heres some more people to look out for:
    OO:
    -Dalton Speak (Marshfield) *Top 30 @ Nat's
    -Kelby Czerwonka (West Plains)
    -Laura Grisham (West Plains)
    -Nick Benham (Branson)

Again, these are all from my district so i might be a tad biased. Haven't seen any of them, but I know they've been placing top notch at tournaments so far.

P.S. Will you be at parkview?? That for sure will be one of MO's biggest this year.

My school went last year, but since then we got a new coach and it wasn't on our tournament scheduele I may be able to convince her thought becuase i know some people from out there that I wanna reconnect with again. Here are some of the OOs that have done really well in my district. There are others, i just don't remember names.

    Jimmy Sitzman Liberty HS
Aggie Rieger Oak Park HS *Early NIETOC qualifier*

William Chrisman was a really large tournament, and a TOC Bid tournament. There are a few people I'm confident in regards to the rest of the year:

Bryson Kenworthy is fantastic. He goes to my school and should do really well this year. Allison and Tyler are good as well, and I was really surprised Allison didn't final at Chrisman. Her piece is cut really well, and the pops are clean and crisp.

Here is DI results for Chrisman:

    1. Michilla Walker (The Face of Emmett Till...I think that's what it was called, nevertheless it was great, I was not sad I placed below her.)
    2. Ethan Wilkins (Another American: Asking and Telling)
    3. Lisa BrockMeyer (Hold Fast. Also very powerful, about a woman who loses her husband who was a mountain climber. She also Semifinaled at Nationals this summer in DUO, 8th Place)
    4. Taylor Holcombe (The Good Mother. Really good acting in this one. Basically about a mom who's son is molested by the neighbors. She gets justice and is sent to jail for it.)
    5. Randi Geer (didn't get to watch her performance, but I heard it was great as well)
    6. Forgot the name of the competitor, but the piece was basically about two friends and 9/11. A little complicated, but also very powerful.

DI should be pretty competitive this year. There are some other notable people to mention though who are also really good. Hayley Farrell(sems at nat this summer), as Well as Bobby Turnbough (Octos at nats). There are also some people at BSHS like Lyric, and Sierra who are also doing pretty well. NFL districts will definitely be a blood bath in march (at least for DI) all of the people mentioned have a shot at qualifying.

In DUO though, I haven't gotten to see many rounds. Bryson (who has placed in HI every tournament this season) is doing The Little Shop of Horrors for a duo. There is also another Ray South team that is pretty good, Courtney Leathers and Daniel Worthington, who are doing 'I am Sam'. I've also heard that BS has a couple good duos, like the Ella Enchanted girls from last year, and Tyler and Allison. All three forensics events should be pretty competitive when it comes time for state and NFL districts.

I LOVE the little shop of horrors duo. My partner and I hit them in duo finals at Bluesprings South and were very suprised to see they got 4th. I just like their tech. Not a big fan of the other raysouth duos, but they are good.
