Veteran Piece! Not for Competition!!

So, every year my school does a huge Veteran's day assembly with hundreds of veterans present. We always have singing and music, but this year our principle looked through old records and found that a forensics student used to perform every year. They wish to reinstitute this and my coach has asked me to perform a piece. The problem is that none of my competition pieces deal with veterans or war. So, please point me in the direction of any piece you think would be suitable!!!! I am looking for something along the lines of Prose, Declamation, or Poetry. And thanks for the help! I want it to be really good so I can both honor the brave men and women who attend and give the school a good impression of forensics!

This is probably far too late of a response for you (just got my account on here today), but a student on my team did a program by Robert William Service - it was a bit too classical (performance and cutting wise) to do well on our circuit, but would've been perfect for you. Posting a response for anyone with this question in the future I suppose?
