Thread: CA at Nats/2011-2011 Predictions

Seeing as there was a tangent about DQ's, I heard there was a girl doing Ant Farm that got DQ'ed as well. hm. Also, there were a few other people I saw throughout my quarters rounds that could have been contested. "A: My Name is Alice" said "What do you want me to do, have an affair with Tiger Woods?" That script dates back to what, the 60's? Also, the boy who did "Miss Polly's" said "I killed a man in Zimbabwe," when it is Georgia. Not to say I didn't add a bit to my own piece. However, the additions other people made were for laughs, characters, or embellishment, while mine were clear transitions from one scene to the next. Oh well. We all dropped in quarters anyway.
    I get 2nd place... alot.
    Most of the time.

Aaaaaaactually tgjdlc...that factoid seems flawed. Your kid had a cume of 36. It took a 35 to break. There were at least two other kids ahead of him.

I went through the entire packet, and unless I missed something; 59 students with a cume of 35 went through and 7 had 36. I could be wrong, though.

Oh and since we're on the topic, he had the (second) most amount of "1"s in his rounds... so those with a 36, he was 2nd.

I know two kids with a cume of 35. But they didn't break because they didn't have enough 1'ss. So there were a few other 35s that would have advanced before 36s.

I must have completely missed that.

    Olivia Atwood (35)
    Chase Reeser (35)
    Tim Nesnidol (35)
    Chris Stack (35)
    Sean Cummings (35)

I skipped over the first two names listed, when I first went through it. You're right.

Silly rounds with one 1 and one 7, FTW!

Tell me about it! My HI was one of the cumes of 35 that didn't break.

Awww. I'm sorry, dude. I guess I was lucky enough to make it to the next round! Aside from two random 7's, I did pretty well in prelims. Personally, I thought making it to Octas was one of the best ways to end my forensics career! I just felt so happy and was very entertained, I didn't even mind not advancing. I don't know...maybe that's just me!

I've noticed a lot of that going on. I won't say which round, or what, because I don't want to get people in trouble, but I judged a round in which one of the competitors received my (7), but the other judge gave him/her/them a (2). We talked about it after we turned in the ballot and the other judge told me that that "competitor" had a 'different' approach to the subject matter than had ever been presented.

that different approach was, perhaps, the worst approach I've ever seen.

    Such is life.

Oh and to add to this, I thought I may have lost my mind and gave that competitor a bad score- so I looked the code up on the results packet... I was right. This judge was the only one (out of twelve) to give this code better than a (5)

Seriously! There was this guy yelling and screaming (because I guess that's what's funny nowadays) and I got a 1 and a 7 in his room. I'm pretty sure the 7 was due to in my intro...let's just say...the judge whispered to himself "No, no, no." while face palming and did NOT look amused in the least bit.
