I would say an All chap PF team.
Then probably Chris Allen Qualling in Oratory.

As impressive as an all chap team is i can't recall those names...have they just done national tournaments?

lol, no, i dont think they have. although I dont judge PF often, i know that nat quals is a weird tournament for this event-i recall strange results for three years in a row-dating back to quals of 09

nat quals is a strange tournament, most of the speech events weren't super surprising and/or filled with the 'drama' in debate...apparently those chap teams all broke at harvard and went as far as double octos....?

actually, besides apparently PF, none of the other debate events were surprising at all, so I dont really care.

Yeah the projected teams: Dobson FD, Chandler Prep LS, and DV JM all dropped the qual round or sooner.
The Chap teams have done well only recently, since the beginning though, they have been struggling.

Did anyone watch any good IE rounds?
I watched Izzy's Drama round, i know understand why she got 4th at Harvard and has been winning tournaments.

I just think PF is stupid to "predict" because no one has been consistently winning tournaments. Hamilton AR won a couple. Chaparral AN won a couple. Dobson FD won some. Desert Vista & Brophy never did amazingly/won anything, but still PF is always up in the air. It hasn't been spectacular, though Chap I think has done the best out of state w/ Emory and Harvard, but PF is always a little wish washy.

Michael and Alex won every instate tournament they went to together as a team...? Got 2nd to Askhay and Rohan at Golden, Won ASU, and went even at Harvard due to some crappy judges/rounds. They were by far the best team instate and out of state.
    Hamilton won dobson, that's it.
Jackson and Lawrence did well outside of state, and consistently placed 2nd to Dobson.
The other Chaps haven't done well. Darius broke to Doubles then lost to Czar and Matt (Understandably)
But the other Chapss haven't even been consistent.

Martin and Celine have done Ok. Consistently Semi-ing and holding their own against the big names.
PF is wish washy, but so is every EVENT

Truth is: Dobson's good and Chap's good. I personally think it's lame that the Chap teams who beat all the good teams haven't been competing a lot this year, b/c the teams repping AZ should be consistently competing. But, they beat all these "big name" teams fairly and in panneled rounds.

Honestly, Chap did do the best out-of-state. Jackson and Lawrence were consistent @ Yale, Emory and Harvard. The others like Darius placed 9th @ Yale also, and they all broke @ Harvard unlike Dobson and DV. They also won Mt. View, closed-out Central and closed-out Natquals.

Dobson is also great. Golden Desert, though, is not a big tournament with that one Harker team as the exception. They did not break out of Harvard, & tournaments like Harvard and Emory is where talent can be more consistent, unlike in-state tournaments where a simple "name" will win you rounds.

Hey, so, can we drop this and just be friends? Seriously, I agree PF is a volatile event and AZ has a lot of great competitors. It's stupid that Nationals relies on ONE tournament to qualify, but that's life and I think we should all move on and be happy.

    Who's in?
