I thought you had to be under 22 to post in this forum.
So, ASU.
What did everyone think?
About debates or IEs.
I didn't hear about policy results, but PFD and LD results were surprisingly normal.
IE-wise, Interesting.
By the way this STILL isn't Nick Selby, but he and like four other amazing DV people REALLY should have made it out of my HI sems. HI Finals were pretty legit, but could have and should have been EVEN more.
I heard there were some heavy drops in PF?
Katie & Jeny, Priyanka & Haani, and of course Martin & Celine.
What do you guys think about Chap AN beating Dobson FD in prelims and then dropping elims?
or that Dobson FD split the decision with Hamilton RA and almost lost?
Well as far as the DV drops I would say the heavy drops were inevitable because of seeding. Because DV Haani&Priyanka and DV Katie&Jenny were hitting Dobson DF and Chapp AN two of those teams, who all deserved it, were going to lose and go on this list. I'd say the only reason they lost is because they hit those two teams. As for Martin and Celinne, maybe they just hit a better team, it was a 2-1, the only person who I know judged that round was Stefani Jones from Ansari-Jones, if she squirreled they may have an argument that it was a bad call.
Chapp AN beating Dobson in prelims and then losing in outrounds doesn't surprise me. These are two great teams, cream of the crop on this circuit easily I would say. Dobson beating Chapp or Chapp beating Dobson doesn't surprise me. They're close rounds. They hit in the 5-0 round to decide top seed at DV and Dobson won. They hit in the 4-0 round that eventually decided top seed at ASU and Chapp won. They hit in Sems and Dobson won, I don't know if the sides were different in each round, but honestly all that surprised me was the 3-0 decision. I'm guessing it was a close round that all three judges happened to think Dobson won. Not every close round is a 2-1, sometimes all 3 judges agree it was a great round, but pick a single team.
Dobson beating Hamilton on a 3-2, all this round does is remind me why some rounds need 3 or even 5 judges. So that the worst that can happen is the right team wins on a 3-2... I can't see Hamilton getting close, who knows, they beat St. Francis on a 3-0 with a good panel, but still, I think Dobson won, and probably deserved to.
I mean i didnt get to see Jenny&Katie, but i did see Priyanka and Haani. The 2-1 speaks for itself. It was a very close round. Alex and Michael, to me, seemed to be kinda lathargic in the round. They didnt really have all the passion that i normally see in them.
As for Martin&Celine, they hit an albuquerque team that they hit in prelims. Flipped same sides. According to Stefani, they destroyed and outweighed the team on the flow. The other two judges, Selby's dad and some other guy were lay. I dont know how legit the round was, because the experienced judge voted for CPA. I mean we have seen Martin and Celine do well through-out the year. Deff not Up to Dobson or Chap, but they still are good.

Also, in terms of PF, hasn't Hamilton RA been in Desert Sun semifinals, closed out Red Mountain, Won Dobson, and now lost on a 3-2 decision at ASU? So far they've been nearly the most consistent team on the AZ circuit (with Ferrante-Daniel probably being the most) and they still aren't getting that much respect.
