ETOC and spiffy tournaments

Does anyone here on this forum have an ETOC bid or, nevertheless, care about the tournament? I have one for my bad semi-final round at penn and Im trying to get my second at....dont laugh....Harvard. I wouldve done villiger, but congress is what i did. Secondly, does anyone else have the problem of your school not going to good tournaments besides like 3, only one of which you go to every year? Just a thought....or two.

Extemp TOCs is so new that even if you have not attended (or placed) at a national tourney, an at-large application would surely get you in. They are dying for competitors to make the tournament grow. I wouldn't worry about the tournaments you've been to this year... just do an at-large application.

Who is all planning on attending the Extemp TOC this year? I know they moved the dates to make it better for people to attend but who all is planning to go?

Its not that I dont think I can get there (i can easily) with bids or at-large, but rather where my school stands. They told me they wont help pay registration ($120 per ex)nor will they give me a judge for the tournament, meaning Ill have to pay for one. On top of that, combine airfare/hotel and now I have a decent expense to worry about, not including camps and big tournament costs (to go independant, since we dont go to great stuff), which Im saving for now. So its not "if," its more like "how."

Well you only have to have a judge I think if you send more than one extemper so solo's (such as me) could get off for free. My school is sort of in the same predicament with fees and such so that really stinks but I'd like to have a decent warmup the week before CFL Nats (which I will hopefully qualify for).

Doesnt matter. My school cancelled like every tournament I needed to get my second bid...my last shot is Harvard. I think I can get it, but Im only a sophmore and thats the reason they dont care whether I get the bid or not; they feel i still have two years. Thats ****. I guess theres not much I can do besides fix my oops from yesterday's LaSalle Invite. It was the first time ever I didnt break to finals. Guess thats what I get for fooling around...:-) But w.e on the toc.
