Thread: Forensics relationships

    Default Forensics relationships

Have you ever had a relationship come out of forensics? By this, I do not mean anyone from your team. How did it work out? Do you think they are good ideas, even if there is some distance involved?

I never have had a 'relationship' like a boyfriend-girlfriend type thing, but I've met some awesome people through speech over the past 2 years that I've kept up friendships with. I think any long distance relationships would probably be doomed, but if it's closer, by all means go for it!

    Ahahahaha. I love this!
First of all, I'm a Speechie but I have a serious thing for Debater boys!
My first ever boyfriend did Congress, my shortest relationship was a guy who did Policy at another school (but we lived nearby), and my longest relationship was with another Policy boy but from my school. Um, I've also been to a couple of dances with other Policy guys as well.

Haha, yeah... I don't know why guys from that event in particular...

Well, I think speech relationships CAN work if you try hard.

I know that, in my league alone, there are 6 interschool relationships, and all have blossomed quite well.

Living proof that it CAN BE DONE!

I've been dating my girlfriend who I met at the state debate tournament last year for 11 months

We live about 15 (give or take 5 minutes) away from each other and go to different schools, but everything has worked out incredibly well.

Congratulations to you two! Testimonial that interschool relationships can work as long it's nurtured and the distance isn't too great.

Although, what happens if you have to compete against your beau or gal? Ooo, would anyone date someone from the same event?

I met a girl at a meet right after round one. We had found out that we liked each other by round 3. We dated for a good two weeks after that. Then, we realized that we lived an hour and a half away from each other, and that we wouldn't be at all the same tournaments. So, we broke up. It was mutual.

Speaking of the ultimate couple, what would happen if Mike Dahlgren and Lindsay White started going out? Can we make this happen?

Speaking as a good friend of Lindsey's, this would be a very funny, yet very weird idea. It would be interesting to see how it would work though.
