Help Write An Intro For Me? :)

I'm terrible at writing intros and I don't know what's supposed to go into them for DEC. Should I say when it was spoken or where it was presented? [It's an old OO]

Um... well how should I put this... don't ask complete strangers for help writing an intro, the one part of a speech that's supposed to be your own original material. I know you don't intend for someone to write your intro for you, but still... just don't.

I guess I meant to say "with" me. What I was asking was, do I need to include when + when it was spoken originally?

I guess the general rule is only include what's relevant. If you feel the fact that it was an OO is relevant, then include that. If you'd prefer judges not necessarily know it was an OO, there's no real problem in leaving that stuff out.

It's basically the same exact thing as writing an intro for every interp event. Main message/things you find relevant wrapped in a pretty bow. And it's a DEC intro. From what I've seen if it is strung together in a coherent way it'll be above average.

Would you consider Megan Fox to be more beautiful than Mother Theresa? For some of us the answer would be an obvious “yes.” But why is that so? We have to stop and think about what influences our perception of beauty. Have we become too shallow to see beyond the Botox and look at what’s inside? In the following speech, “Bring on the Cheesecake,” by Katharine Jackson, we’ll take a look at the problems facing beauty in our society.

Can anyone take a look at it and make some comments/suggestions?

Personally I think the whole Megan Fox thing is a HUGE cliche. I would stay away from it and pick another celebrity or a famous model or something. Also taking a small jab at Mother Theresa might be something that I would disapprove of on a ballot.
