I was wondering what a good HDA would be for a guy and a girl, that is not "overdone". We haven't been able to find a very good one yet.

"check please" being performed. it was hilarious
Hmmm. From what I've seen, here's two outstanding pieces:
--"Money Talks" - Placed 6th in Illinois last year, and I'd never seen anyone do it before Hank & Kristin, and I haven't seen it since. It's about a blind date, but it's with two horribly shallow people which provides for some REALLY awkward moments. It's a GREAT piece.
--"The Naked Truth" (I think that's the title) - Glenbrook South is running this piece this year, and I think it's a great piece. It's about a guy who just got put in jail because he went streaking in a mall, and his lawyer wife trying to get through all the madness.
There are a LOT of pieces you can do with a little sprucing up here and there. So, I'll give you a list of what's overdone this year:
--Anything from "Romantic Fools". Mind you, I'm doing that piece, and our coach is using pieces from it for two or three of our Varsity HDAs, but...we've heard of/seen HDAs not from our school at EVERY tournament so far doing one or multiple segments of that piece. The most awkward was yesterday. The two get up, and do PRACTICALLY the same cutting as my partner and I. There were some similar mannerisms in it, too. And then, we went. Super awkward.
--Abridged Pieces - Please none. I'm already sick of the one from Warren doing "The History of America - Abridged" after seeing it twice.
--"Awkward Silence" - I did this piece last year, and we've got one of our Varsity HDAs doing that piece this year. I love it to death, but, I would stray away from pieces like this due to overdoneness.
Other than that, I think you can do a lot of different pieces
