Well you can't really base 1 place on EVERYTHING... Even if it IS KHSSL.

Yeah i saw that storytelling finals round, and to be honest you should not have got third. Sorry but the truth hurts and maybe GSA was right.
Hey, as much as I disagree with coming onto a board and complaining, what you said is totally un-called for. Their were 4 or 5 judges in Finals, and I'm sure that if they say as a collective group that this person deserves 3rd, they deserved 3rd, you have no place to comment on whether or not they did.Originally Posted by Im gonna tell ya story
Sorry, but the truth hurts, you need to learn when to keep your mouth shut and when to talk, and it'd be excellent if you learned tact.

Also, GSA takes into account a lot of other things than just talent. I've seen some of the most talented dancers I know (i know it's not drama, but I am by trade a dancer, get over it! lol  ) go unaccepted and then get a scholarship to pretigious dance programs like Point Park and Oklahoma. The teachers and judges, as horrible as it sounds, use things like how well they think they will be able to mold you, your personality, type of favored art form. If the teachers think you are great, but your style is just not what they can work with, you aren't going to get in! It sucks, but it's the same anywhere you go. It goes the other way too tho, some untalented people get in because the teachers feel that they can mold them and work with them. It stinks it isn't purely talent, but that's the way things go... Don't get mad, get better and use the experience for college auditions or (if you are a sophomore?) next year!

I never made it into GSA the two years I tried out and yet I had many final rounds from KYNFL, KESDA, and KHSSL. I think forensics and theatre have similar, yet not quite the same quidelines for a quality performance.

Yes yes. Theater, Acting, And Forensicating are all variants of the same medium. They're all different animals.Originally Posted by Interper05
I agree and you know, i'm okay with not making it in...sorry for letting off my steam on here but through that posting i saw how unclassy some speech people can be... and they made sure to tell me how much i sucked in their personal message to me...thank you
Also... Story-telling isn't like the most respected event.... I mean in other states it's done... and stuff....
But a lot of states don't even use it for consolation!
