Channel One News

At my school everyone is forced to watch Channel One News, which is a news program aimed at teenagers. Is it just me, or does this program have really biased when it comes to covering the presidential election? A story ran on the show about how everyone was making fun of Howard Dean's post-Iowa speech (you remember the tune...Michigan! Texas!), then followed that up a few days later with a report comparing the Democratic campaign to a literal horse race. They even went so far as to paste the heads of the nominees onto little animated horses, making them look more than a little ridiculous. So what do you think?

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think that really added anything to the topic at hand. What do you think about Channel One News? Do you watch it in your school? I think this could become a very good topic of discussion, and I'd be happy to see you join in.

Yeah I know. I jest. I just think Dean is the coolest.

I have never heard of Channel One news. We don't watch anything at our school (too cheap!). We just get the morning announcements and a school newspaper. Oh well!

we watch channel one and i think they're biased twoard the dem's really..bush has gotten no coverage

When I was in middle school, we were forced to watch Channel One as well, and yes they are biased towards democrats.

Recently Channel One has been airing reports on whether or not Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, but even those have an obvious slant. They act like even considering the notion of Iraq not having weapons is just ridiculous, as evidenced by their guests, who are always 100% sure that their president is always, always telling them the truth. And now it's time for the Question of the Day! Do you think George Bush is a good leader for our country? 99.99% of you said, Yes! .1% said, No And I'm A Communist Pig. Thanks for the participation, Channel One viewers! We'll see you tomorrow in the Hacienda, but for right now, enjoy these wonderful Go Army commercials.

Some new report just came out that we supplied them with the chemical weapons, and still THEY HAVE NOT FOUND NUCLEAR WEAPONS!!!!!!

Oh, you didn't hear about that? Yeah, apparently a past administration actually supplied Saddam with the materials he needed to make weapons of mass destruction. Why in the world would they do this, you may ask? Because back then our adminstration supported Saddam! They wanted him to help fight against another nation we weren't rooting for at the time, and so they basically said, "Hey, look at these chemicals! Hmm, I wonder what you could make with these? Hint, hint!" Now we're in 2004 and we are supposed to hate Saddam. Can we say "doublethink" ala 1984? Revisionist history, anyone? Hello?!
