Hello FOLers,

My spare time over the past two weeks was absorbed with helping run the high school tournament I founded, and the week after, a friend's collegiate tournament. That was just enough time for some shenanigans to crop up at FOL, reminding me that we need to get the moderation team up and running. I will be doing so in the next few days. I was just about to launch it a few months ago when Gary Fan passed, and it was just too emotionally difficult to do so then, particularly since I developed many of the guidelines in direct correspondence with Gary himself. Those of you who forgot your manners here -- and you know who you are -- shocked me back to reality, so I will get those posted from the tournament this weekend, and we'll get the team to moderating.

Please exercise some tact and restraint in the future when it comes to someone inciting the kind of adversarial comments that were raised here. In Web-speak, that behavior is referred to as flaming -- appropriately so, because every time some challenges a flamer, it only fuels the fire of their continuation and escalation of their adversarial nature.
