Evidence that we're crazy
Any stories of non-interpers discovering interpers and them thinking you're crazy?
We are certainly the strangest group of people. We talk to walls, talk to ourselves, and sometimes talk to our friends without looking at or touching them.
I'll start!
One time, I was practicing backstage. As I was getting to the more intense part of my speech, some people entered the theatre for a meeting. It was at this moment that I began to scream/argue at myself, then cry because I was getting screamed at. I managed to scare people away from their meeting.

I get to school about 20-30 minutes before everyone else does in the morning. I usually take the time to pratice my piece a couple times before everyone else gets to school. It's one of the only times during the day that I can pratice peacefully without interuptions. Typically if there are people in the hallways I get some pretty weird looks.
Probably the best come from trying to explain the different interp events to people. Most people who aren't familiar with Speech are really surprised that there's so much theatrics inolved, I guess.

This is so true! I've been in two situations like this.
One is where I entered my school's theater room because it was open, entered my coach's office, got "The Vagina Monologues" (even though it's a girl piece) and started reading it for the heck of it. Then the principal came in because of a meeting to be held in the theater and I did not notice he was there until I looked up.
Another time, I reenacted a video from You Tube entitled "Elmo Behind the Scenes" for a group of friends and after I was done, they looked at me with a "What the ****?" face.
To make a long story short, speech and debaters (me included) are definitely weird in a good way.
