SNFI Vs. GMIF

Yeah... I'd like to go to GMIF. The only way I'd get to go is if I didn't have a research internship (which would be great for GMIF, but absolutely TERRIBLE in terms of progressing my science experience). I guess I should refine my question... Will going to SNFI pretty much prepare me (almost completely) to compete? I don't plan on winning nationals or anything, just winning locals or breaking at university tournaments (i.e. Princeton, UPenn, etc).

I don't really know anything about SNFI, which is why I've only talked about GMIF. So I wouldn't know about how pieces are when they leave there.

So, I registered for forensicsonline for the SOLE PURPOSE of telling you that:
SNFI IS THE GREATEST IE CAMP KNOWN TO MAN.
I went last summer for HI after doing a year of DUO and I was completely scared and frightened of the prospects of being all alone without my DUO partner. However, from the very moment I set foot at the camp I discovered how wonderful everyone that attends/works at SNFI. Rosie, Lou, and Taron (the coaches) never miss an opportunity to teach us about performing. They want you to really become the piece and to believe in it, not just to churn out perfect blocking and popping (although we all came **** close after 2 weeks hahaha). We do such crazy fun things that we forget that we're working on our pieces. Oh, and they have a pretty kickass extemp program too.
At the end you may not leave with a "perfected" piece, but you leave with 3 new coaches, 2 dozen new friends, and 10000% better performance skills

What if I want to do Original Oratory, and for a second event, either Prose/Poetry?

SNFI would fit in better with my schedule for the summer... but is it worth it? I hear a lot of raving for GMIF/UTNIF, but not as much for SNFI. I'm going for OO and Prose/Poetry... any thoughts?

If your considering a summer camp dude toatally look into FFI! For the past three years I have come out of camp with a piece that is tournament ready and also skills that not only helped me pick up other events on my own but go back and help coach team members as well. The success i have achieved is 100% due to the skills i learned at FFI. HEY!! I was at GMIF this past summer and I have to say it was almost a life changing experience. It's full of great forensicators who have done some great things in High school forensics themselves and now pass on the knowledge to younger ones. It's a great environment to be in. Peter alone might the only reason you'd wana go. I was there for Oratory, and learned a lot. They teach you not only the basic fundamentals of speech but also give you the guidence to take it to a advanced level. Simply put the two weeks I spent at GMIF were the highlight of my summer.
