    Default My Intros

    Sophomore Year:

    The legendary artist Kenny Rodgers once said, "You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away and know when to run". This famous lyric from "The Gambler" can be applied to many topics around the world, including today's question...

    Junior Year:

    One of the most famous quotes from the movie 300 is uttered as King Leionidas charges head first into a hail of arrows, "His helmet was stifling and he must see far. His shield was heavy and his target was far away." This quote from a blockbuster movie can easily be applied to many political situations around the world. We must remove our helmet to recognize the problem, and we must lay down our shield and charge forward with our spear to resolve it. This brings us to today's question...

    Senior Year:

    A Bon Jovi album dated September 19th, 1986 states, *"Woah! We're half way there! Woah! Livin' on a prayer! Take my hand and we'll make it I swear! Woah! Livin' on a prayer!"* Now right about now you must be thinking, "Why, for the love of all that is good and holy did I just have to hear this kid sing in International Extemp?" I do apoligize for my singing voice...I swear I'm a much better dancer, but this chart topping lyric can be applied to many political situations around the world including today's question...

    * = sung

    anyone who starts by talking about fuzzy animals or exceeds a 9/11 per sentence rate of .3 should be given an automatic 8

While it's possible to do well with them (I can think of a few big names who use canned intros), many judges and competitors will lose respect for you if they heard "your" intro in their previous round, or in another competition. . .it can cost you ranks.

    completely agree with you. why even bother to put in the effort to do well in the round if you're just going to be a parrot in the intro?

    And I agree. Canned intros stink.
