anybody seen that guy in congress before..post your experince and thoughts about him...

the guy is in my league. hes really good(u prollie know this already). he wins every single time in congress. at the last league tournament he got 1st for p.o. HEs really good in congress, u're prollie going to see him at state. i never actually competed against him cause i dont do a lot of congress but i know of him. most people are reaxlly scared when they see him in a round.

i went up against mejia at long beach in semis and final round he is a great speaker, berkeley must not have had good congress judges is he just finaled, or he had a bad day who knows

we just had our congress state quals yesterday, he got first. he was a great speaker. i finally competed against him in the semi round which was really hard(i was so happy i was there taking in consideration that it was the very first time i did congress)

First of all I find it insanely humorous that Carlos has his own thread. I have known him for a year and a half, have competed against him numerous times, and am pretty friendly with him. Yes he is an excellent competitor. He has amazing command of US and international law, and amazing impromptu speaking abilities. He is, however, not perfect, and shouldn't be feared. He may seem insanely intimindating, but he's really not. Don't worry about competing against him. Anyway, he'll be gone next year (he's a senior). I must admit I'm looking forward to it because it's gonna change the competition pool a lot (sorry if you read that Carlos...I will miss you).

PS: As far as I know he has not won the State tournament yet. He's gotten 2nd for 2 years running.

I am so surprised by a lot of the Congress rankings. Carlos was in two of my prelims and I watched half of finals. I think he deserved to be placed much higher than 6th. I found Riva Litman, who took first place, to be overdramatic in her pronunciation and her delivery. I thought she treated Congress like it was an interp. She's good, but I think Carlos is better.

I presided over the final round and i feel that it was a good round, however i also feel Carlos didnt stand out as much as he did at long beach per say.... he did really well, but i feel that litman also did really well...it was extremely close in my mind and i was also surprised that Carlos got 6th i thought he would be in the top 3 but what can you say
