Hello FOL world!

Just wanted to let you know that 3P's first ever Boot-Camp summer was a huge success, as our students have gone on to break at major invitationals and make the NIETOC, NCFL, and NFL Championships in various events.

This year we have brought back Boot-Camp and have expanded our coaches through the year to provide you with opportunities to get private coaching in the following areas: ALL Interp events, Oratory and, now, Congress!

We have some of the most talented coaches in the nation; all of whom have coached their students to great success, some who have actual summer camp experience.

The prices listed on for our coaches are PER EVENT and not PER STUDENT. So if a price is listed at $500, and you're interested in signing up to work with Duo, that is not $500 per student!!

Our Initial deadline is today: May 17, 2013. It costs nothing to turn in an application, all it does is guarantees you your first/second choice of coach.
We will have rolling enrollment after this day, but please be aware that spots per coach are limited! Today is the last day to be guaranteed your top choices!

Click on the link below for more information and we look forward to working with you this summer!

Hello,

I read James's post and thought I'd make this thread. If you want, share your predictions and any thoughts about the 2013-2014 season.

Here are mine (I omitted myself and my brother):

Congress:

Carlos Ochoa
Joe Russel
Lyubov Kapko
Insert your choice of DV kids at this point. (I'd say Kilano, Fedasiuk, Aberg, in that order but the results tend to disagree with me on this one)

PF (I'm not going to order this one because PF be cray): (I basically agree with James)
Russell-Keating
Guo-____
Lee-Nienhouser/Lee-Lee/Iyer-Gupta
Carlton-Kumar
Huessing-Peshkin

To be honest, I was surprised when Artiswamy did so well at nat. quals. When I hit them at ASU I wasn't that impressed, but it's obvious that they have improved tremendously.

As usual in PF, I wouldn't be surprised if new teams come out of left field. Also there's some people with graduating partners that'll be good if they're matched well (Coriell comes to mind)

Impromptu:

Lyubov Kapko
Carlos Ochoa
Sumeet Patwardhan
Mia Armstrong
Insert newcomers

Extemp:

Lyubov Kapko
Carlos Ochoa
Christopher Jordan
Priankha Kumar (spelling?)

To be honest, I was not impressed with IX finals except Kumar and Kapko. I heard from a judge that DX was the same. I think that extemp will be interesting to say the least next year.

LD- (Who I think will do well with judges, also not in order):

Eleanor Beard
Boaz Cohon
Lyubov Kapko
Mia Armstrong
Elana Quint
Nick Billings
Gurpaul Sidhu
Sara Slosky

Interp and Platform are not my thing, so yeah...

Also, any thoughts about the new rotating event? Seems interesting to me.

In terms of what I think we'll see in divisions next year on the sweeps level:

Division I:

DV
Brophy
Hamilton/Dobson
Insert other huge schools

Division II:

Catalina Foothills (Although they have less heavy-hitters, they simply outnumber everyone else in the division)
CPA/TPA/BASIS Flagstaff/River Valley (This will be fun at winter trophy for sure, although I'm putting TPA on top with my prediction)
BASIS Scottsdale

This year we have special activities planned out for Interpers:

One thing that I always notice at National tournaments is that unless it's a big, obvious city like Boston or New York, it sometimes becomes harder to find things to do with the extra time a team may have before or after competition.

Or, beyond that, in the big cities, the big obvious things to do are sometimes so big and obvious that they dwarf other smaller, secretive things that are also fun.

SO, with CFL's and NFL's coming up fast, and plane tickets being booked, I was wondering...

People of Forensicsonline: Are there any speechies FROM Philly/B'Ham, or people that were in Bama in '09, who could recommend things to do/places to eat/general fun-ness to have for everyone this year? I always find that one of my favorite parts of speech is seeing new places, but there's a difference between seeing new places, and EXPERIENCING new places.

Give us the inside scoop.

Hey everyone, with March coming to a close the State Tournament is only a few weeks away. I think its time for the annual predictions thread for who you expect to do well or who to look out for! Keep in mind, for many of these I'm not 100% sure whether the competitor I'm listing has qualified in the event I'm categorizing them under, or even qualified at all for that matter, so I may just end up listing them twice with an asterisk by their name to show that I'm not sure which event they're taking. Furthermore I apologize, I seem to have misplaced a majority of my notes from UOP, Fullerton, Logan, Berkeley, etc. So many of the people I've listed don't have their pieces named, as for the others they're off of memory so they may be wrong, if anyone can fill me in on a piece or a mistake I made, it would be greatly appreciated.

Humor

Earleen Brown - Logan - (not sure of the piece)
Neil Bhagat - Leland - "Mrs. Mannerly"
Caitlin Bransby - Fullerton - "I Love My Job"
Keshan Sirimane - Gabrielino - "Footlight Frenzy"
*Summer Wagner - Fullerton - "Clue: The Musical"
*Brian Lok - Gabrielino - "The Little Prince"
*Tyler Tippings - Schurr - (not sure of the piece and if going in HI or DI)

Drama

Nathan Leal - Logan - (not sure of the piece)
*Sarah Dahdouh - Logan - (I know its something about JFK/Jackie O but I doubt she'd be taking her DI over her Duo)
*Ryan Le - Logan: "A New Kind of Gravity" (I believe he's the other half of the Logan Champ duo "The Velvet Sky" so unless they didn't qualify, I think this is another DI we won't have the opportunity to see)
Kenny Zhang - Harker: "An Original Masterpiece"
Mejan Rostamian - San Marino: "Sunset Boulevard"
Jonathan Kassa - Centennial: "Pryor Convictions"
Violet Vargas Williams - Fullerton: "The Face of Emmett Till"
*Kathleen Luka - Fullerton: "Scarecrow" (Not sure which event she's taking)
*Tyler Tippings - Schurr - "Iphigenia in Orem" (Again, not sure if going in HI or DI)

Duo

Boyd/Le - Logan: "The Velvet Sky"
Dahdouh/Witherspoon - Logan: "The Secret Life of Bees"
Hernandez/Start - Logan: "Holes"
Duong/Lok - Gabrielino: "Rules"
Lim/Tang - Monte Vista - (Not sure of the piece, I've heard they're running "Hoot")

OO

Jonathan Santos - Logan
Jeremiah Osborn - Helix Charter
Matthew Kartanata - Schurr
Andrew Wang - Harker
Kurt Cakmak - Clovis North
Kathleen Luka - Fullerton
Will Walker - Fullerton

We would probably do a satire because I feel one cannot create the same tone of the movie without the special effects.
How would this piece do on a competitive level?

This year, we have been doing a satirization of the screenplay of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which is going well, but it is not a very competitive piece.
Thoughts?
