This is a topic I think is important to a coach for the stability of the team and the longevity of a coach. If you have/had a parent who gave you problems and caused you all kinds of grief, what did you do about it?

First, you ought to talk with the parent directly and address your individual concerns. Communication is key. If the parent in question refuses to communicate with you, and is causing administrative difficulties, stop focusing on the parent, and instead network with parents of other competitors. Forge connections with them to pre-empt the troublesome parent undermining your status as coach. Don't let one bad apple ruin the whole barrel.
