We have Novice Nights in my city, and unfortunately whenever I went I only did PF. I signed up for a tournament about a month in advance and I had told my teacher that I couldn't go a long time ago, but the tournament is this Saturday and she already paid to have a judge for LD and I was the only person signed up to compete in it. So I'm going. Right now I'm just typing up my speeches, but it is so different from PF and I am very confused.

Firstly, how does one write a criterion and a value and where in a speech would they be placed? Especially if you're defining. Would those two things go before the definitions or after? Also, when is the crossfire, and will I have to bring my own timer?

For instance, all I have down for a value for November's LD topic on the pro side is service, and the criterion as better society. Would I format that in a sentence? For neg I have charity as a value and criterion as volunteerism increase...

I need to finish both cases by the end of the night so I can show them to my teacher for help because chances are I will not be having school Friday because of a school volleyball game.
