Alright i see all these stupid little interpers talking about their little baby cute stuff but where are the real debaters? Policy, LD and even POFO take a stand because IEs are not worth talking about.

I do both Speech and Debate at my school as well, and I have to agree with Zayzay.

And though I feel carmelo a1 was probably just trying to be funny while increasing disscusion on debate, he should know better than to poke fun of IE'ers. We are constantly battleling stereotypes, and can be a tad defensive.

you must not be too strong of a debater... seeing as how you say "First off," and then fail to provide a second point... In addition, I believe there is a reason there are more IE's on this site... Personality, for one. Also, there happens to be a stronger showing in IE's in general in speech (as far as IN comes, at the least).

You can't just dismiss what you said by saying "Alright 1st off I do IEs." You called people "stupid little interpers talking about their little baby cute stuff."

You're either incredibly ignorant or a really bad troll. Insulting people and not expecting a backlash is just LOL.

Nobody said a single thing about your talent. However, what you said clearly belittled interpers. Since you claim to be such a strong debater, you should probably be intelligent enough to realise that this is NOT a very good rhetorical strategy. Congratulations on not only convincing NO ONE to talk more about debate, which isn't in and of itself a bad message, AND shifting any attention on your cause over to your negativity towards a just as deserving group of people.
I hope that no rudeness was intended in the above message but rather what was intended was an acknowledgement of the extreme disrespect towards the group which you even acknowledged with your first comment as FOL's most vocal bunch.

I think everyone needs to calm down a tad. I understand why IE'ers are upset, I was to the first time I read the post. But I think we have to keep in mind that carmelo a1 was just trying to increase disscusion on debate. A noble cause. Plus, he does seem to have acknowledge that his choice of words were not the best. So I feel like the harsh words and attacks are not warranted.

Again I understand why BOTH parties are upset, but everyone should really just calm down.

I'm not quite sorry for anything I said... haha. I mean, realistically, this is a reversal of blaming right here. He came of crass and rude, and now we have to apologize? I think not. Seeing as how IE's are just better... haha. I'm kidding. Those debaters do some things I could never do! Crazy stuff right there. But I surely do some stuff they couldn't even dream of. nbd.

Maybe you should transfer to a site latent with debate. Everyone has their place in the universe.

And as long as we are bragging about Nationals... What district are you from? Because I have heard that at Nationals, there are some pretty God-awful prelims out there. Also, when states like TX (and this is just an example, by no means diminishing their competativeness) that have 12 districts, I'm sure there is some absolute crap that gets through. In addition, there are speech-states, and debate-states. Where do you fall?

Nebraska OO is completely correct when it sounded like i was belittling IE (i even did HI) i was merely trying to get some debaters to come out.

I'm sure that you will! Indiana will as well.

And I was just using the insane amount of qualifiers as a reference. I really have no idea how competative the state is. Even being in IN, I can say that Debate here is NOT strong all-around. Sure, there are a few standouts, but IN is by far a speech state. Wierd thing is, we put 3 people in Congress finals at Nats last year haha. Took 4th and 6th in Senate, 7th in House. But yea, I used TX just for the sake of 12 districts. I mean, we only have 4, and I happen to be in the most competative. Oh well.
