What are your predictions for TFA State in Bryant?
Who will win?
Who will be the upset?

From what I've seen thus far, these are people that will/should go far at State... This is pretty much a list of my favorites from this year and some that I've heard about that have been wreckin' shop... Oh yeah, and these are just the people I know that are qualled thus far... And if they aren't qualled yet, they will be.
TFA State 2003, Bryan, Texas:
HI:
Cody Kirkpatrick - Gregory-Portland - "Wigfield"
Kamen Edwards - Klein - "Bambi"
Alice Wiesner - Klein - "Primary English Class"
Andy Heald - Pflugerville - "Goosebumps: Night Of The Living Dummy"
Anthony Wofford - Churchill - "An Empty Plate At The Cafe Du Grande Boeuf"
Brendan Spieth - Churchill - "Den Of Thieves"
Steven Kochevar - Bryan - "Airplane!"
Kevin Foote - Lamar Consolidated - "Western Civilization: Abridged"
DI:
Cody Kirkpatrick - Gregory-Portland - "Dry"
Eric Clarkson - Gregory-Portland - "QED"
Justin Blacklock - Gregory-Portland - "Nocturne"
Kevin Foote - Lamar Consolidated - "Coyote On A Fence"
Brendan Spieth - Churchill - "Take Me Out"
Jordan Saunders - Churchill - Don't know what piece, but she's kickin' ***...
Tasheena Miyagi - Bryan - "Claire"
Dusty Alvarado - Klein - Haven't seen it, but from what I've heard, I need to...
So yeah... I've only been to seven or so tournaments, so yeah, haven't seen too much yet... But I'm going to tournaments for the next three weekends in a row, so yes, yay.

Cool..cool..but don't count out my North Texas compadres!!! Bianca Anderson from Duncanville is rocking out.
I've already qualified in DI, OO, and DX but I don't know what exactly I'll be going in.
In Original Oratory, I expect myself(hopefully) and several students from Churchill. They've been doing very well this year. Also, one girl from some school near Austin is stirring up the competition also.
I'm getting all of this from the results at St. Mark's.
Also, Plano Senior High usually makes a pretty good showing.

Jordan Saunders from Churchill... Yeah, her DI is called "A Bright Room Called Day"... So yes. There you go Stephanie.

Chris, the Justin who you said did 'Nocturne' didn't go to UTNIF, he went to WTAMU for camp, but I know the person your talking about... I just can't think of his name.
I haven't seen 'Airplane' yet, other than a small bit of it, but i'm sure it's great.
"An Empty Plate At The Cafe Du Grande Boeuf"
I almost chose to do this piece this year as my HI. I decided against it though based on how the plot is very flat and boring at times.

The way that Anthony Wofford does it doesn't really have any flat or boring parts... It's actually quite hilarious... Well, obviously... It's an HI and doin' well...

that's because Anthony Wofford is amazing... simply put. we hit up Churchill this past weekend (our second time in two years, i think. last year it was at p-land, so we barely competed against them since they were all PQed... anyway) and his PR piece I had seen before as an HI and I didn't like it.. but the way he did it, oh wow. the kid is awesome.
have you seen his duet? they got first at Humble (and everywhere else, i'm sure) gooooodness, it's incredible. my duet partner and i were like "holy crap!" his partner is really good too. she looks so tiny and... small lol.... but she blows you away.
... hmm ... i'm not exhonerating them or anything. lol. you'll see them at state in duet, and they deserve to be there.

what duets do yall expect to be in finals? any churchill duet i think definatly deserves finals, but what about others? what about any of the dallas area schools. being from houston and all i only see houston schools. man that sucks. does GP have a duet that will rock the house?

I think Churchill will definately have a Duet or two in finals... As for GP... Me and my Duet partner are currently tied for the most points from GP with 16... Also with 16 points from GP is Blacklock and Nielsen (brdwaybabe05). I'm doing "The Big Bang" and Blacklock and Nielsen are doing "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change"... Hopefully we'll do well. As we all know, points don't matter once you're at State... A few teams from Creekview and Bel Air are bringin' the heat as well... I don't know... We'll just have to see how we all do.

Sorry to double-post, but yeah... I had to add this... I think it's cute.
his partner is really good too. she looks so tiny and... small lol.... but she blows you away.
He he... Samantha Levenshus... My partner's trying to hook up with her... How funny... So yes, if there are any Churchillers on this site, tell Samantha that JM Guevara from Gregory-Portland wants to hook it up. :D
Tee hee.

Steven Kochevar and Tatiana Rostotseva (i think thas how u spell it) are duing this dual cancer piece called Therac 25, and they're jus awesome! I've seen it like 6 times now and I've loved it every time. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of the Churchill duets yet and very few of the GP ones either, but I hope to see them at state. I know Creekview is definitely bringing it too tho, because D'Angelo Lacy and Charissa Graniero's "Job's Wife" is absolutely amazing. We hit them twice at UT, and they took the tourney.

Here's my prediction:
I'm going to win OO. No, seriously. I will. I'm going to win Oratory. I will then own it, and rename it Original Melissa, or Melissa Oratory.... something.... and the event will be reshaped. no more gay topics. only cool stuff.
yes, i will change the event itself simply by winning OO.
i'm a psychic, did i mention that? so you guys who will be doing this next year, you better start thinking up a new OO for next year. otherwise you'll die.

Yeah, Steven and Rostovtseva are kickin' . Also Overman and Miyagi, Silcox and Mandelbaum, (are they still partners?) plus the other Churchill teams and don't forget GP!

Cody Kirkpatrick in HI.
Breaking 100 points.
That's a sign of something.
Also... Zech Leal and John Michael Guevara doing The Big Bang.
Breaking... 27 points is a sign of something...
Ahem.
Reblocked, recut and ready to go three round and out.
**** yes, *****es, watch out.

Charissa Graniero and D'Angelo Lacy's (Creekview) duet Job's Wife is soooo awesome too. They took UT with it, and I wouldn't be surprised if they do really well at state and NFL districts too. Also Justin Slagle in DI and Jim Rodman (Westlake) in OO are probably definitely going 2b bringing the heat. Not to mention Sarah Flynn (Pflugerville) in OO as well.

Justin Slagle is amazing.
I love his Duet, Lebensraum.
One of the best plays I've read.
