Now that the script is published, does anyone else have a strange feeling that this will start popping up everywhere.

er...Spring awakening is a broadway musical. It won 8 tony's including Best Musical.

Check out the wikipedia for the plot.

yeah it probably will be everywhere and almost everyone that does it will be terrible

I should have thought that through before I wrote it. For some reason, I thought you were referring to something someone had done had Nationals. Yes, it will be done to death and probably not very well.

Spring Awakening has been a script for a long time? Just not a musical Ive seen the show and read the original script, both amazing. I would love to see someone do it as a DI

I really love this show. If people start doing it, I hope they do it justice, it is really powerful on stage.

basically the only way to capture everyhting Spring Awakening has to offer is through DUO, but i cant imagine a team being able to make it work right. theres too much in the story. doing spring awakening is good in theory, but in reality i doubt it would work

For the love of God, PLEASE read the original Wedekind play before attempting any presentation of the musical version.

They may appear similar in structure and character, but they are NOT the same play.

I know they arent the same play. I have read both. The orgional would be near impossible. But if you took the musical and focused on moritz's suicide, it could easily work.

I would approach with caution, if only because of it's incredible cultural popularity at the moment.
