does anyone know any info about doing NFL if there school doesn't do it but they want to?

I've heard that you can go independent and I've heard you can go with another school. Some help please?

Absolutely not. No independents are allowed at NFL. You must be attending a member school and be registered and on file with the NFL. I'm sure the delightful Mrs. Cheney will clarify this for you if needed.

Sounds about right. Now some tourneys may allow you to compete independently with a guardian or school representative on hand, but I'm pretty sure we can't have "Nic McCarthy" as a school or independent entity in the NFL bookkeeping..

To participate in an NFL tournament, you must be a member in good standing of a member school...... verified by coach....

NO INDEPENDENTS....MUST BE ACTIVE

Now a school can join as an Affiliate School or Chapter School. Some schools have the students pay the feels.

From now on, I'm not just going to say that Mrs. Cheney will assist with an answer, I'm just going to scream it as loud as I can. Posts are no longer necessary. It just kinda happens...

Wait.... so like at some tourneys, a student from another high school can join your team (Non NFL) for a regular season tourney?

Example: The Glenbrooks Meet

Do you think a person from an area high school without a team could join your team for the meet???

How does this work>?

I think that Blue Ridge will be sending a few students as Tempe Prep team members to Harvard. I know that 'Blue Ridge' won't be attending, due to the fact that none of our coaches can go and we're too broke to fly out a judge.

So, to reiterate: team switching is done here. We haven't gotten in trouble for it.

I would deduce that this means it's okay, under conditions.

All rules immediately change for Harvard though. Heck, my senior year I created my own personal high school and went as a competitior under it's name. I ended up creating the ultimate forensics school name by driving by suburban developments and combining their names. Harvard that year said a big hello to 'Winter Lake Prep'.

Have I irritated someone, if so I apologize. It would appear I might detect a sarcastic tone here.

Mea culpa. I apologize. If prefered, I will not post. :? :?

NO NO! I was completely serious with both of those! I'm sorry for hurting your feelings... no sarcasm was intended at all. I just kinda knew that you'd come across the post and explain it in the great detail that you always do. I was intending the scream for ya comment as more of a I'm going to just yell and SuperCheney will show up to answer all forensics-related questions in detail. I'm so sorry again!

You did not hurt my feelings..... no need to apologize. my locating or researching is an occupational hazard... with working in library AND being head coach. I have also gotten burned by listening to others with internet or purchasing information regarding screenplays. I believe this activity is ALL ABOUT THE COMPETITORS and trying to sift through to locate unwritten rules, differences between state and NFL has been eye opening over the years. To have a piece make it through Districts and prelim rounds at NFL Nationals.... to have someone protest or request looking at every line for semi finals, and then hearing competitors and coaches scurrying to re-cut something or edit it in order to comply.....

it just should happen earlier or everyone have the same guidelines.

Thank you .... I am by no means an expert.... there are way too many SUPER COACHES that I turn to in order to locate information .... District Chairs, NFL Diamond coaches who have been doing this for more years than I have. I just willing to share information with others to attempt having students and coaches be on the same page.

Thanks again.

Welcome to ForensicsOnline. I don't really know what kinds of tips you're looking for, but I wouldn't suggest asking for advice in the Coaching forum. In my experience, members sometimes ignore forums that don't interest them. There is a separate forum dedicated to Oratory (I'm only slightly biased towards that, because I'm the moderator of it). If you could further explain what you're looking for there, I'm sure someone here would be willing to help you.
