Guantanamo what?

I saw on ABC world news last night that the head guy at
Guantanamo Bay said that the detainment camp should be shut
down. A while ago their were some detainee suicides.

Anybody know what's up with that?

Why would the United States close it's largest detainment camp, when with the rules currently in place they can detain anyone they want?

Not that I think what they're doing is good. It just doesn't make
sense to me.

Probably cause it draws bad publicity. They want to close it so the Republicans have something to point to in 2008.

Republicans or dems? I'm not sure that I would go around bragging about how the adminstration closed down a program with a bad reputation.

What if the immigrants ate all the citrus and sugar and drank all the rum whilst on the cargo ship? Okay, Im done being silly.

Strategically, Guatanamo is a pretty good fit. Close to home, in the middle of our neighbors. I dont know why we would ever get rid of it.
