I'm not doing it for nat's or anything, just for quals, and then if i make it i will have a few months to find a better script. im on a deadline for this though

I didn't you could pick a different piece than what you qualled for. I could have sworn you had to take the same piece in the same event that you had previously qualified for...

Be 100% assured of that...Nats believes that the PERSON makes it to Nats not the piece.

I know it's general opinion of the boards that the performance is the only thing that makes a difference in an HI, not the script, but I would like to propose an alternate view.

A good piece can be done badly. That person will likely not succeed. At the same time, a bad piece can be done well, but logic would dictate the person will likely not succeed themselves. I say likely, because it has been done, but for something that's being thrown together for Quals, most people don't have the time to create a Sintek from a Durang script.

What I'm trying to figure out is why so many people on FOL insist on letting people start at the same level as their competition by selecting an inferior script. With the knowledge of fifty states worth of cuttings, we should know the most creative and hysterical ones, and help out our fellow forensicators by getting them in on the best stuff as well, NOT saying "Your performance is all that matters". That sounds like a real cop-out to me.
