Some of the one's I've seen are:

"I talk to walls"

"Speech, (n.): activity that involves getting up at 4 a.m., riding a bus for hours, wearing a suit, talking to walls, speaking in front of crowds, and the traditional trip to some fast food joint." (then it had a cartoon depicting a kid that used the same expression from Home Alone. The whole aftershave AHH! :shock: thing)

"Speech. It's a way of life"

"Speechies!"

"Yes. We are forensic nerds"

Our team bought sweatshirts last year, but they were BORING and just had DC SPeech....and then the persons name and category.....UBER-BORING!!!!!!

Anyways, I am just trying to look into slogans.......Our school is strictly speech. We don't have debate. And also, things like "Speech and Debate-We give good oral"......wouldn't fly at our school. Things like "Don't Hate, Forensicate" would.

Any other suggestions you guys have.......i have til November! lol :lol:

Preferrably a funny one, but nothing that is raunchy at all. Our coach is like over 50 and is a southern baptist women who is the wife of a preacher, so its gots to be toned down.

Off-hand, I was just thinking about a bunch of the cool phrases kind of arranged in a cool looking kind of way, but I didn't know if that would be tacky or too busy. As I said my creative rating is -23. Another initial thought I had was to include all the facets of our program in some way or another (like with a slogan targeting each or something?): Debate, Speech, Interp.

I leave this in your hands. If you get to it that's cool, if not it's ok too. I know you must be busy with all of these requests.

Oh, btw, you are free and welcome and able to put your signature or something on it. Just so everyone knows who designed our awesome shirts.

I hate living in a red county! I submitted a design for forensics sweatshirts-chalk outline of a body, with "Forensics-We don't cut up dead people." (Hardly original, I know, but I thought it was a great idea) Apparently, I had to get the design approved by the administration, and it didn't fly. So now I need another design asap, and if the previous design wasn't approved I'm second-guessing myself about all possabilities and I'm not sure what will be clever, yet appealing to the big-wigs at school. If anyone can provide any help-I would appreciate it. Our colors are red and white, we're the Hamilton Chargers, and as previously stated, slogans dealing with dead bodies and sexual innuendo will not be tolerated.

1. We don't have expos in texas and i was addressing Broski, who lives in texas.

2. The extemp topic is given to you, and you can be passionate about what you're talking about- yes, but you don't get to pick the topic.

3. Impromptu- same as extemp.

I also just compared Oratory to Interp events because that's all Broski does. I guess I could add- Oratory is more than just a topic placed in your hand that you are forced to talk about. You pick the topic. You pick the words. You pick everything. Not to say that any other event is less important, I just get flustered with people who bash events they have never done.

My favorite speech-endorsing clothing was a sweatshirt that, on the back, showed the outlines of a group of people going across a crosswalk. One was lugging a suitcase, another a backpack, and another was wheeling an extemp tub on a cart across the street. I'm doing a really bad job of explaining it but when I saw it I laughed. It's really cute.
