Are you supposed to already have all your pieces cut and all to work on before you get there? or do you get help on finding pieces or anything? I wish I could have gone this year, I still don't have pieces and it's less than a month from when we have to have them completly ready for our first tournament! What exactly do you do at the camp?

you spend the first week finding, cutting, and memorizing pieces; and then you block it all out and run through it with various people the second week. that's basically it, but it's sooooooooooooo much fun. don't miss your chance to go if you have one.

UTNIF is awesome!!!!!!
I had the best time, and learned soo much!
One of the main reasons for why I went to UT was to get a piece, so unless you have your heart set on doing a piece, you don't need to come with a piece...
besides all of the things that Austin mentioned, there are also other cool things such as performance hour- in which you get to watch different performers both on the high school, and college circuit, perform a piece for a specific event... its soo cool to watch all of these different people. and then following the performances, there is a question and answer session where you can ask the performers specific questions...you will be amazed.

yay! then I'm definitly going, I can never find good pieces. I don't think I'll have one that I'm set on doing. I don't have one for this year yet and I have to have one cut, memorized, and ready to perform at the first tournament by the 12th. ahh! but my parents say I can go next year so yay! I'll actually be prepared for once!

They are right, you don't need to bring a piece. However, I found it very helpful to bring along any pieces that you've done previously or just one that you really loved. And it's a good idea to think about what kind of piece you want. I had some "guidelines" for my piece and that made it easier for my lab leaders to find the perfect piece for me. In fact, I picked the first script that I read while everyone else had to read a lot more scripts before they found the one right for them. I'm not saying that you'll have the same luck as I did but it definately makes things easier for your lab leaders. :-)
