So, I have a question. I really want to do OI next year, and I was hoping to do that at a camp. But I've heard that UTNIF really only does memorized events (DI,HI,Duo). Does anyone do Prose/Poetry at GMIF, or is it really only for memorized events? If I do it will I be a total loser?

Thanks,
Justine

To tell you the truth.. with a poetry/prose, it kinda is a memorized event.. iono about you, but we have to memorize our poetry/proses. Just cause you have the manuscript doesn't meen you can read from it, right?

Althought maybe its different where you are, who knows.

Awesome, thanks so much. Then I'll do Prose and Poetry at GMIF, and I can do OO at UTNIF (that's right, I'm so cool I'm going to BOTH camps!)

P.S. We don't have to memorize our OI pieces, but after a tournament or two I know I have mine memorized.

I would really recommend doing OO at GMU.............

Really? I really want to, but it depends how much I want to swallow my pride and be the only one doing OI at UTNIF. How akward do you think it will be if I'm the only one in poetry and/or prose at UTNIF (I heard that last year there was exactly one girl doing poetry)? Hmm, unless someone says "NO Justine! Don't do OI a UTNIF!" I'll probably do it. But I still want your guys' feedback.

Wait, did you mean OI? Because I am planning to do OO, but a) how would you know that and b) it makes more sense that it would be OI.

*Looks really embarassed* Hmm, well I feel pretty stupid right now.

Okay, new plan: Go to GMU in OO, and UTNIF majoring in DI and minoring in Poetry. That will definitely work. (Basically I've decided that I'm too self-consious to be the only one in Poetry AND Prose, so this is my way of chickening out, anyway, it will be good to have a DI for next year.)

Geez, I feel like such a baby having to run my summer plans by everyone. (That totally doesn't mean that I don't like it- all of you guys have been soooooo helpful!)

Anyways, thanks everyone! Now I just need to figure out how to apply. The link on the UTNIF website just takes me to the 2005 form, and the link on the GMIF website has an error every time I try.
