My partner bailed on me for this one, JD. It's a bummer b/c we broke last year and this is my last year at Villiger.

............and you didnt even have a piece anyway.

Yes we do, she refuses to practice it. But anywho, Villiger DP is strong if you are a DIer. There are so many and unfortunately, a lot of talent get dropped in prelims. As far as HI goes, they have the upper hand because of the many DIers. But overall, DP is quite competetive at Villiger.

Yeah, seriously, that thing is soooo frickin scary. I didn't go last year, but I did go freshman year, and I spent the majority of it huddled in a corner

You mean that there was actually a place in that section where you could huddle and not get butt-humped? Hahaha, I got groped a few times, but I think it was all in fun............ and that's the story of how I became a man. J/k. about the man part. Nothing else.

how is villiger anyway?

jdcongresscapt

It's actually lots of fun (I bet it's even more fun if you actually break). The competition is pretty good, you get a glimpse of just how good the rest of the nation is, and there are many fine ladies (assuming you're a dude).

What school are you from?

Watch out for rape on the dance floor, that's my only advise.

All of my teammates that have ever been entered in congress hated it b/c they said that the Villiger sessions are long and tedious as ****. But overall, it's a fun tournament.

And JD, breaking isn't like A BLAST. I had the biggest headache the second day, and the posting room is too small to fit all those people, so it gets crowded, hot and smelly really fast.

jdcongresscapt
11-11-2005, 08:15 AM
Yeah, Congress isn't all it's cracked up to be. Just talk a lot and you should be okay. Supersession's four hours, though. Nasty.
And that room IS too small.

I was in the final round of Congress last year and I thought it was one of the top finals I had been in in 2004.

Prelims are a bit of a drag, but when are they not? There are cool chairs in the prelims chamber that make it fun to jump up to be recognized. You'll see what I mean. Don't knock Villiger, it's a quality tournament and it was a really great Congress last year. I'm sure it will be this year too.

Of course it will be.

If for no other reason than the behind the scenes Jeskaness going on this year.

But seriously guys, Villiger this year is gonna kick ***.

I'm going to try to get to Villiger (maybe do a little judging...afterall I am now helping to coach the Ghost team) so that I can see all "the behind the scenes Jeskaness." But I may not be able to go...stupid dogs needing stupid food (don't ask...but if you must, then ask).

Oh man!! I hope you can come!!!
And I don't NEED to ask about the dogs, it's not a "must ask" situation, but I am intrigued...

FIVE DAYS!!! I'm pretty PUMPED. Let's do this guys.how about not.

its tuesday and im double entered in oi and dp and i have no business in dp, but as of sunday i was supposed to do this dumbass hi about fairy tales but then i realized it was really gay so i changed to a di about black people getting into a car accident and killing themselves, but i came home today from practice and i once again realized im not doing that cuz first of all, i'm not black, and 2nd of all, i'm not good at being dramatic, so low and behold, i'm doing matilda by roald dahl and cutting it as we speak. maybe oi will work out better for me.

sigh. not looking forward to this at all

AfRiCaNHI

Dude, I also was entered in OI and DP, but dropped OI b/c I couldn't find a competetant prose. Oh well.

3 days till show time.

Hey, Jess, is that no-water-rule still in effect?

iismepeter
11-16-2005, 07:59 PM

I don't find it that amusing. You try fixing 50 different documents and recounting everything whenever someone drops. lol

Tope, I don't know, I'd assume so, but I'll ask for you.

as i said on the other post in tourny section, i think tope copied down results. (and yes, they made note of telling students the water rule was eliminated for 05)

as i also said, villiger judging = bad (in general, not all of them sucked penis)...

Tony, I think I hit you first prelim round. What rank did you get?

Twh2004
11-21-2005, 12:40 PM
i went 1-1-1 in prelims, which is why i hate life so much. then my amazing 1-4-4 in quarters which, by observer accounts, is way off. see the other villiger post somewhere on this forum for why, lol, i hate typing it.

I heard Tope broke.

Thanks.
Congrats to JD, Tony and all on a good job.

Yeah, Villiger was oober sketchy. The first day was AMAZING, with people running events on time. I was suprised I got home before midnight. I commend everyone in tab on that. However, on the second day, I must say that I was suprised to see my first round judge in my quarters. I did a double take. I'm not gonna but all the blame on the over-stressed Villiger tab room. The ranks were EVERYWHERE. There were a lot of inexperienced judges judging outrouds. I went 2-4-6 in quarters and heard from one of my coaches that an oratory round broke the 3rd place person with a cume of 11. I was like WHAT?! A LOT of really good people dropped very early or didn't break at all. Overall, Villiger was aight.

I love villiger, but im not gonna lie.I thought my DEC was banging and I was pretttty pissed that i dropped im prelims this year cus a judge was irratated with my "sitting down antic" (Hoo-Ah). But oh well. I came 2nd at GMU but still. I would of rather had a final at villager then a 2nd at GMU. And the whole ting with tope's water bottle, I was in the round, and I got the 1, and i saw the ballot and i was like are you kidding. He deserved that one. oooh well.

I distinctly remember someone with a "sitting down antic" in GMU Dec finals. Mind you, I wasn't in finals, but I did break to semis.
