It is my view that the best supplimental/double entry filler event is impromptu. Through discussions I have come to the realization that each state differs in the exact rules of impromptu, but I just wanted to hear your views/ideas.

Impromptu is great, but i think it's a little too capricious. in a matter of 2 minutes you can write a perfect speech, or you can be stuck with nothing to talk about except some generic examples. I am still deciding (in the case i don't make international octas) whether to do imp or to edit my OO into an expo.
BTW, i can claim to have lost to the national champion two years ago, the wonderful Lexi Menish from Assumption KY. I suppose I can brag about that...

Impromtu's cool, although I never did it. Extemp commentary is also a neat supplemental. One guy from my district got knocked out of US extemp (intentionally?) and then got second in commentary at Nationals. Some people do intentionally lose a main event to try to win a supplemental, given that the competition is less impressive. Someone not familiar with forensics wouldn't know that you won only a supplemental, but simply that you were a national champion in something.
