What tourneys are y'all going to this year? When is the first one? I know it can't be too far off until the season starts.

R u excited about competition starting up again?!?!?! I know I would be... :(

Yes I did create a thread about this...but it was probably too early in the season for anyone to take notice.

So you're a Boonie, huh? Your team used to be HUUUUGE. What happened? Why only 6 tourneys? When I used to compete way back when you guys averaged about 50 kids...and that was huge in my book.

Which tourneys u guys going to? :?:

I'm not even sure yet... Were you competing when Mrs. Kohl was the coach? As far as i know kohl was coaching for god-knows-how-long... and then we had hamm, then knuckles, then we had reed, now Mrs. Kohl decided she will help us out and coach us again.

It does seem as though the team was shrinking, but Mrs. Kohl wanted to just like "reset" boone. Ya know? She is taking a small team and she wants us all to double or tripple at state. So you can see that things have been kinda stressfull i guess, going through 3 new coaches in 3 years. And from what i know we had money issues last year so we are in dire need of fundraising, haha. Non-the-less though, im sure the year will be exciting.

Tomorrow we have a meeting and get our practice schedueles, so all i'm worried about now is making sure im ready for the first tournament.

The reason for 6 thournaments i think, is prolly just money issues. Something that will hopefully be fixed this year. Im hoping we go to more. I'll let you know more when i figure it out ( althought a fair warning, im usually the last person to know these things ) :P

That's cool that she's helping you guys, though. I think if memory serves me correct that Hamm was coach when I was around. That wasn't too long ago. I do remember her name, so I bet she either helped out or judged when I was around, too.

Sometimes in a rebuilding year it's better to start small and work back up to the level you were once at. It sounds like she knows what she is doing...and I'm glad you guys are still around.

I was thinking you were going to have someone different coach y'all this year...a former student maybe? A young teacher? Did that fall through or something? I'm thinking there was something said about this...

At any rate...good luck, I'm sure it won't take much for you guys to be back on top.

FSM :D

Oh my team is now long defunct...last I heard they had like 2 people on the team...and that was a couple of years ago. Sadly, those days are over... :(

The thought has crossed my mind...but I live too far away now for that to be possible. It's also one of those situations where I think the coach is too busy but still gets paid for the job even though he :( doesn't go to competitions. Not that there is anyone to replace him, necessarily...but with no reason to give that position up it kind of keeps the team dead/grounded. I also don't think the interest is there, anymore.

define "big" we've lost a lot, but i say we'll average about 15 ppl @ tourneys... the majority of which will double or triple. so really, it depends how you look at it.
but quality wise, we have a few exceptional people that will final no prob and MANY MANY youngins that need work

Big to me is like 25+ people. Is 15 all that is on your team? Or the average of how many that go to tourneys. 15 is definitely a good #...especially if they are mostly doubling/tripling. How many are totally new to the game? IF you're lucky it'll be an even spread of returning members -vs- newbies. In my humble opinion, anyway... :)

I thought that at first when I saw it, but her reply just happens to be inside her quote back to me. :D

HEY TP!

If y'all need a judge, and I can find a ride.. just call. Especially if it's in Lex. Or D-ville. That'd be hot.

Yeah... I'll also go w/ whoever will take me... It's sad really...

When you get what tournaments you're going to, send them to me. I want to see how y'all do this year!
