This is going to be my first year at FFI and I was wondering if there was anything I should bring that wouldn't be obvious after a few minutes of thought (e.g. - clothes). That said, obvious things are probably worth mentioning too (so that they're not forgotten).

Thanks in advance,
Matt

What event are you going in? That would probably help determine the specifics a little better.

I'm working with the LD program.

Are there any things specific to FFI's location that make it different from most other camp experiences? For example, since it's a hotel, bringing an alarm clock doesn't seem to be neccessary. For (another) example, NDF has a big piece of grass right by the dining hall, so I try to make sure that I have a wiffle bat / frisbee / some other device to take advantage of the field.

I guess I'm asking about the stuff people wished they brought when they got there. Does anyone remember if the TVs have the red-white-yellow thing in the front? That would make a gamecube possible...

Well, last year was at a different hotel, so I can't really say any specifics. Apparently there is an amazing swimming pool at this new place, so bring bathing suits if you'd like to. Also, at the old hotel there were convenient stores in walking distance so if you forgot something, it wouldn't be a big deal. I guess we'll have to wing it.
If you want to know about video game options, I'd call the hotel. The name is on the website.

You'll be by Outdoor World Bass Proshops. The largest outdoor retailer in Florida. And you're near the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport.

there's a climbing gym nearby. it's probably not within walking distance though, and i probably wouldn't call it a little shop or restaurant.
