This camp is very expensive and I hope it helps me improve in OO. If it doesn't I wonder if I can get my $ back... :?

If you are going for OO, you should be pretty satisfied from what I've heard of the coaching staff. Camps are a great tool, I hope all of you chick-a-dees have oodles of fun. GMIF people are going to need their own form of "The UTNIF Longhorns," "The FFI Swirl," or "The Interprod 'clink'/'i'" (Not even Interprodians that I have asked know what their 'thing' is. This is going to be necessary for the time when all Gee-Miffies inevitably do awesomely at tournies. That's just my random thought for the day.

i am sure you will improve in oo. tony figliola is an amazing oratory coordinator (though i think that he would be even better at interp), and if you are lucky enough to have ashley mack as a lab leader, you will without a doubt be in tons of elimination rounds. as far as the camp motto thing goes, only ffi interpers do the swirl, though (i dont know about the other camps' things).

i want to add just one more thing to comfort Keaghlan. FFIers and HGP students under tony figliola last year placed: 1,4 at Wake, 2,5 at Yale, 2,4,6 at UPenn, 2,3,4 at Blue Key, 2 at GMU, 1,5 at Crestian, 2,6 at Emory, and 1st at NCFLs. This all without mentioning the millions of semifinalists, quarterfinalist, and octofinalists.

Yeah... its nice to see that a number of people coming from the camp are succesful in the "big" and "significant" tournaments but I really want to learn some fundamentals, such as what are NFL judges looking for at nats. and so on. I guess I'm just being pestimistic but $1000 plus is a lot of money for my parents to shell out. Ty for the advice tho.

PS - I know and girl (Soo Jin Kim, Myers Park HS) who placed 6th at Blue Key in Flordia but has never placed at a single invitational that I have been at. I have actually out ranked (and placed above) her in like three local tournaments when I was a freshman and she was a junior. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, are these camps really teaching fundamentals or are the people coming from the camps just naturally "good"...also do you know anyone that has attended GMIF and been in the finals at Nats. I know alot of times it comes down to luck but still... just curious.

this is GMIF's first year ever. therefore, no nfl final round experience. however, though nfls does generally bring the best competition, in no way is it fair to any competitor, including yourself, to measure his or her success by one tournament, especially one in which so many crazy things tend to happen.

And you're still missing out on many more.

And yeah, Fig is one awesome-*** coach, and his orators make it to national outrounds every year.

Dude, I'm curious, so go for it.
