So, now that all Texas quallifiers have been decided. I just want to say, Congradulations to everyone who made it and everyone who competed.
To those who didn't make it (and even those who did), take it with a grain of salt. You have to realize how dang subjective this form of competition is, some people will make it over the good ones based solely on judges preference.
For example, lets take the Kamen/Joe situation at state. Kamen won the round and Joe got 3rd. However, Kamen was disqualified for "authors intent" (even though if you'd seen his last 2 state HI's you would realize they are all the same, and that is probably why he was disqualified). And Joe was bumped up to finals. In finals, Joe took SECOND! SECOND PEOPLE! A person who some judges deemed "not good enough" to compete in state finals, placed in the top 3. See? Subjective to Judges preference.
So to all of you ppl who are bummed out because you didnt make it and probably deserved it - Joe/Jordan, Zech/Jeff, Jimmy Stewart/Henry Fonda(THE perfect team), D'Angelo, etc. etc. Take it as a breeze in the wind. It's just a silly little competition with bad food anyway.
