We have to pay. $800 each. But the team fundraises, so its not too bad. Just sucks. We run out of money after the first tournament.

When I competed in high school I had to put up about $300 for each nationals I attended (which was $600 per year due to CFL and NFL travel).

Wow...Houston, do you have to pay for state too? I guess a reason our district pays for nats is because we havn't qualified more than5 from our district in one year...

The Rowan County Board of Education is paying for our transportation, entry fees, and the hotel bill while we are in Philadelphia. Before the tournament, we are going the New York for four days just as a fun trip. We are seeing a bunch of Broadway shows and cool stuff like that. We have to pay for that ourselves. It will be around $800 for the entire New York trip (including food). And then we are going to have to pay more for food in Philadelphia, probably around $300. So we have to pay a total of around $1,100 for the entire trip (including food). We have 8 people qualified from our school to go to NFL Nationls.

Yeah... but we only had to pay our entry fee for state. We have money problems cus we switched coaches in mid season and our old coach sent us into a deep deficit.

And we were upset that the district wasn't flying us! They gave us $141 or so for food during state...God bless our district :)

Lo'dy you folks sure get the fancy treatment.

We were lucky to have a bus to get us down to state. Of course, once we were there, we had to rely on parents shuttling us between the hotel and campus.

we don't even get a bus. we have to carpool. i really wish we could have had a bus.
yeah, the school doesn't give us any money. we have a speech account, which has built up over the years, but it's not massive. usually it's just enough to cover the year and have a little left over to get the next year started. we're paying for transportation to CFL nats from the speech account, and each of us going has to pay $150-$170, depending on what the final amount for transportation was.

Yeah, no bus for us. We had like a 12 person (short bus... ) bus at one time, but we had to pay the school to even use that. So yeah, we don't bother with it anymore. We fundraise. I always say our team is funded by old women because our two biggest "money getters" are a yard sale and a Bunco Party. I know. lol
