NEXT YEAR:

Still not sure where I'm going, or if I'm doing speech. I'm going to try out for GMU's team and see if they'll take me.

Regardless, I plan on helping coach my team whenever I'm in town.

Yeah, I've become a speech junkie.

I am going to MSU next year. I might do speech; thier team isn't really competitive.

I will be a junior next year, and as of now I have no idea what any of my pieces will be. I'm thinking about Pinocchio for HI and maybe Harry Potter for duo, but nothing is official yet. Quite frankly, I am not even concerned with that right now. I still have nat quals and hopefully nationals to worry about right now.

Zach, I feel that i know u from something. Perhaps I hit you in one of my rounds throughout the year or something. Did you ever hit a Drugs Are Bad in HI, Grief-Struch in DI, Time Flies in DUO or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in DUO?

Next year, I hope UTNIF will be a big help in helping me choose a winning HI, but for DUO/DUET, my brother and I are looking at Harry Potter.

I'm a senior this year.....so next year, it's off to frigid Hanover, NH (Dartmouth College) and no speech whatsoever. Their debate team is really good, but I probably won't participate.

"Footloose" or "The Sound Of Music" for HI.

Maybe "The Nightmare Before Christmas" for Duet/Duo.

Nothing set in stone, though.

Not even the fact that I'll be competing next year.

::Sigh::

03-20-2005, 07:43 PM
If Zech doesnt compete, then Joe doesn't compete  !!! That's the truth!

By the way Zech, why wouldn't you compete next year?? Also, who would you do duo/duet with???

poonan is my brother and future partner. Duo partner.

Many ideas have been running through my head for HI--Ghostbusters recently came to mind...

xxLusciousZechxx
03-20-2005, 11:50 PM
Jordy, love, Jeff did Ghostbusters for HI at WT Camp.

Never competed with it on the TFA circuit, though.

The reason I wouldn't compete next year is because I'm drained of it.

It's not as fun as it used to be and it costs way too much (we pay our own entry fees and all that jazz).

And if I did, I'd be a partner whore.

Shaun Meglen, John Michael Guevara, and Alyssa Linder are the people that come to mind when thinking of Duet/Duo partners for next year.

I'll qual with them all, one at a time, then just choose who I feel I could/would do best with at State.

I don't know.

Right now, my future is very much up in the air.

We'll see how things go.

Next year I want to do even better! I was 7th place in storytelling this year at KHSSL and honestly I feel great about it due to the fact that Corbin has just begun to participate in speech in the past three years. I had an awesome story this year, Willy C. Sparks was my story and I'm so pround that through this story I made it as far as I did.

alright thomas, i said this elsewhere, but i'll say it here too, so you make sure to see it: don't skip camp for a reason like that! you will recognize people once you get there, and you'll make new friends, and the western speechies will help you get the pieces you need. and it's an awesomely fun experience, and you're only a freshman, so that means you have three opportunities to go! i'm still sad that i only got to go once. so do it! it's so totally worth it.

KY_Liberal
04-01-2005, 03:53 PM
I know, I'm late to the party, but...

I'm invited to the wedding too right?

Now, to Thomas:
GO TO CAMP! I went twice, both times for Extemp. It was amazing, and I met a ton of people (among them: Brice Acree, got to know der Reese and Kat better, Chad Meadows, Stephanie Hale, Laura Newton, Laura Campbell, Clara Shaw, etc. etc.).

Seriously, you should go. It gets you ready for one of your events right away, and if you really do want to work on new events it can teach them to you (do they have Congress this year? Or since Evil-O is gone, is it too? Is Chris Grove still teaching EX? Is Cortez still there? Who works where now?... just curious). Also, the lecture service from Mr Cosby is amazing. So, my advice to all under-classmen... GO! Especially if you are from Boone, lol.

Also, if you can't go to Western's due to date, go to GMU, UTNIF, or wherever else! Trust me, they are worth it!

a few kids from campbell county are going to wku's camp....i think dustin caudill (storytelling guy) and amber tiemeyer (our captain) and maybe some other people too....our coach is organizing a fundraiser right now for the peeple who want to go.....to help us pay the $300 fees.....we should hook up and maybe carpool....since boone & campbell are practically neighbors...
