PFD should be intense competition down here in KY.
I think Joe and I have a shot of qualifying... Too bad only THE TOP team qualifies cuz we only have 8 teams in PFD in our district (4 from Boone...)
Oh well, should leave us some stiff competition, and that's what it is about.
Just hope Congress doesn't wear me out by then but rather gets me "in the debating mood"!

It seems to me that on the national stage people only seem to know about two teams from NM in PFD: Marcus Williams & Troy Schuler and Holly Putnam & Heather Campbell both from the Albuquerque Academy.
But there will be one new face at Nationals this year.... :D
1st: Jacob Candelaria and Sarah Zuk (St. Pius X High School 6-0) :!:
2nd: Marcus Williams and Troy Schuler (Albuquerque Academy 5-1)

Well, we may not have had an interp finalist for a couple of years, but **** does Missouri ever OWN PF!
From victorybriefs.com...
PHILADELPHIA, PA - Is this Nationals, or the Missouri State Championship? Or does this simply prove that Missouri is a national powerhouse in Public Forum Debate? The final round of the NFL National Tournament will pit Neosho’s Audrey Covery & James Colston against a team from Ladue Horton Watkins (either Yang Song & Anna Alekseyeva or Lindsay Bayham & Adam Schneider). Congratulations to all four debaters, and to their respective coaches, David Watkins and Linda Box!
So Missouri has the top THREE (!!!) debate teams in PF. WOOT!
EDIT: Sorry, I mispoke. Missouri actually has the top FOUR PF TEAMS. (!!!!) Neosho, Parkview, and 2 from Ladue Horton Watkins. Wowzers!
Chewie, I really want to say some stuff about that final round of PFD right now but I am totally holding my tongue.

MO had a very strong showing. NC had a good showing as well, 2 teams in the top 10. Not bad.

I thought the style of the two teams in finals was interesting to see to say the least. I personally thought it was a weak round that did not do an adequate job of showcasing public forum. Both teams had little warrent to their arguments and their constructives were fairly weak. I really thought it was shocking to hear about some of the teams who dropped fairly early being as I see their styles as much stronger and much more solid. Either way, there is no way to deny the way MO did at nationals.
