At the time of this post, there are 1,498 members registered to forensicsonline.net

Also, there have been 1,499 (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/) American deaths in the war in Iraq.

Neat, huh?

Not really... NEAT. Yes, the deaths are sad, and I don't think we should be there.. but, think of how many MORE people died in WW2. At least, I suppose, less people have to die in war today than 60 years ago.

What would be cool is if fo.net could get WWII-like numbers! That would be awesome.

Well, it looks like Fo.net got to 1,500 first last night, but US deaths are back in the lead at 1,502 (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/).

US Deaths: 1,502
Fo.net Members: 1,501

COME ON FOLers! We need to beat that **** death toll!

Chewie

Update:

fo.net = 1,523
US Deaths = 1,509

Go FO.NET!

Uh-oh...looks like the Military is catching back up...

Fo.net members: 1,645
US Deaths: 1,643 (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/)

This is horrible.

Make that 1,644 (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/) vs. 1,645

What a close race, eh? I'm pretty sure the death toll will pull ahead for the summer, just because this site doesn't get a lot of traffic during non-forensics periods.

EDIT: Now it's dead even at 1,645 each.

this is it it's the decider right here. Who will come out on top, Who will die or who will join? It's very exciting.

Wow... GO FO.NET!

But I guess we would like to win not only because of increasing registering, but also decreased deaths... that would be nice.

Chewie

Well, the death toll (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/) is pretty much running away with it. At the time of this post, it's 1,715 to 1,750.

There are now 100 more American deaths in Iraq (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/) than there are members on FOL.

Just 399 deaths away from the next nearest war on the casualties rankings list, The War of 1812.

Rankings:

12. War in Afghanistan (220)
11. Persian Gulf War (382)
10. Iraq War (1,861)
9. War of 1812 (2,260)
8. Spanish-American War (2,446)
7. Revolutionary War (4,435)
6. Mexican War (13,283)
5. Korean War (36,574) (This was the M*A*S*H one)
4. Vietnam War (58,200)
3. World War I (116,516)
2. World War II (405,399)
1. Civil War (Approx. 498,332...Confederate Deaths Were Estimated)

So we certainly have a ways to go, even before we get to Vietnam.

I just realized we don't really have an "Iraq War" thread, so this'll work.

General announces preparations for 4 more years in Iraq (http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/08/20/us.troops.ap/index.html)

There's that.

Well, forensics season is starting up again, but we're still WAAAY behind the death toll in Iraq. We have 1,807 members at the time of this post, which is 129 less than the 1,936 American deaths over thurr (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/). Pick up the pace, people!

Wow. I don't know whether to laugh or... ummm... just shake my head. Maybe I'll chuckle while I shake my head. That'll work. *Chuckles while shaking my head*

I think I'm going to cancel this war due to lack of interest.

2,023 (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/) vs. 1,858 (www.forensicsonline.net/forums)

We hit 3k just before New Year's (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/).

And hey, 20,000 more kids to Iraq. I'm pumped to see how high we can get.

THAT'S A LOT OF DEAD PEOPLE!

Check out the timeline link in the sidebar for all the other awesome iraqi civilian deaths. Eventually they gotta run out of people, right?

FO.net needs to win because then it will mean that more people are doing Forensics and training to be able to run the world intelligently than the population is wiped out by stupid politicians.

GO FO.net!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So even though it is horrible to get competitive about this, it is a sort of stand. Seriously, doing forensics is probably one of the best things that you can do for society.

Maybe we should do away with the draft, but just draft people into forensics...

Chewie this is such a morbid post.

oh man. i just wish people would stop dying in Iraq, then our numbers would be higher, and more people would be alive
