I never actually saw oratory, but our school does a school wide sophomore speech contest that all the sophomores have to do, so my answer is based of of that.

I saw way too many: Teenagers are too depressed and suicidal and on too many drugs. God, they were terrible.

possibly the lack of originality and how to get that originality back? putting the original back into original oratory.

Oh God, individuality speeches. I lied, I have seen two rounds of OO before, and those "everyone is too similar we need more indivduality" speeches are horrible! (I saw three in two rounds)

But one speech I absolutely love that my friend showed me at Villiger was about how everyone is TOO individual. She had some really great points. :)

The most over-done speech I've seen so far is procrastination and it's various counterparts.

Which.. sort of sucked as I suppose you could place me in one of those counterparts. Oops.

But, yeah. If I have to hear (or.. give..) another speech about not cheating yourself, I'll cheat myself OUT OF LIFE.
