Just got back from state tournament. The judges were uber horrible
I didnt break to outs even when the cum to break was 10.

I was disgusted with the stuff that broke out to semis and finals. One
guy was doing an OA about O.P.E.C (a bad one at that) in where he reffered to middle easterns as Arabs.
Ocampo from Logan and Bret from Leland got hosed. the final round was slow and boring with very un-imaginative topics. The black guy from Logan won someone told mehe placed second last year however this year I felt he won off of his rep. I was in a seims round a fullerton and I didnt think he was special. Also he BLANKED OUT in finals for a couple of seconds. And I just though the girl doing her's on When bad things Happen form San Marino should have taken 1st and the guy from Lynbrook should have placed third.

All in all it was a fun tournament and I'll hopefully be back for my third year in a row year I cant wait to see some of the people I met this year at USC and Fullerton next year. Have a great summer.

I think ben has very good stage presence...I watched one of his rounds before and the way he spoke definately caught my attention...brett's OO on "change" is very good as well as ocampo's OO...Therefore, I believe that ben deserved the title state champ. Even if he did mess up, he probably was still a lot better than everyone

Messing up? Ben usually doesn't. One notable exception was last year at MLK/Logan, during final round. He spoke right after me, and half-way through his speech was a hugely noticable 15-second pause. But, ****, his cumes were so low that he won anyway... he was way ahead of the game.

Let me set the record straight I watched the final round and ben did not
blank out he stoped and looked at a judge and delivered his line as an aside. Those people on the far side of the room may not have been able to see this, obviously the judges thought the same because everyone I talked to thought he won the round hands down.
