I noticed that those finalist from the Stanford tournamet were ranked a little high on the new rankings.

Is it my mistake but if my memory serves me correct Stanford was not one of the 10 tornamets in the country. For that matter I dont feel its the one of the top five tournamets in California.(on the interp side it is renound in debate and extemp)

top 5 interp and speech tournaments

#1 Berkley

#2 Martin Luther King Invitational

#3 Long Beach Invitational

# 4 Fullerton Invitational

# 5 U.O.P Invitational

By size and quality these tournamets attract great out of state schools like
Egan High (MN) Nova High (FL) Trinity Prep (FL) Alberque Academy (NM) Glenbrooks South (IL)... In addition to in state powerhoses like defending champs Bellermine, and large school countenders like Logan High neither of which send their squads to compete at the non competitive stanford. 8)

Then again this is just opinion :)

I attend Nova, and we haven't been to Berkeley since 2002.

Glenbrook South Speech doesn't travel out of state anymore. They only travel to Nationals. Their debate program travels all over.
