Back to Mountain Dew...has anyone tried this "LiveWire" business yet? It's orange, yet it's Mountain Dew...so I suppose it's okay. :) I was a little perturbed by Code Red when it first came out, but it grew on me. Does anyone know anything about this new orange stuff?

I saw some show (20/20 i think...) a LONNNG time ago about caffinnee addicts, how they drink up to 3- 2 liter bottles a DAY and at least one 2 liter bottles a day and sometimes at partys they would finish.. many.. many many many packages of mountain dew.

I tried some of that when I was driving home from the Twin Cities (about 1.5 hrs away) at 4 in the morning. It seemed to keep me awake.

I have drank so much mountain dew in my lifetime that I am immune to most caffeine. But Mountain Dew is still the best soft drink ever...ever! Unless you're playing video games all night, or playing a 36 hour game of Risk, then you go for the Jolt. But they don't make Jolt anymore, and that saddens me.

The best time of my life, at least regarding mountain dew, was when Pepsi was putting out all the Star Wars cans, and I kept buying cases of Dew to try and find the Gold Yoda can, but it was no problem because I loved drinking all the Dew I had. On another note, worst time of that promotion, the Diet Pepsi cans.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to announce that Mountain Dew has, in fact, released Mountain Dew LiveWire in stores. I recently had the fortune of buying a bottle of this new soft drink last night. I will try to communicate its tastes into so many words.

Mountain Dew LiveWire is about 60% Mountain Dew, 40% generic orange soda. When it first hits your tongue, you expect it to become more and more sour the same way orange juice does, but actually, it never does this. It always keeps that same Mountain Dew consistency, but adds a hint of orange flavor along with it. The aftertaste leaves a bit more orange flavor to be reckoned with, as if coming back to say "Hello. Remember me?" It is a very interesting product to be sure.

Although I would give this product an overall positive review, for now I believe I will stay with the original Mountain Dew. LiveWire is certainly a great product, and this may be my "retro bias" as it were, but I believe that nothing can compare to the original Dew, even if created by the Dew Gods themselves.

Also worth mentioning. Buzzwater. It's just like water, only extremely caffeinated. The most potently caffeinated beverage. One half-liter bottle is equivilent to 6.5 cans of coke, or about 3 cans of Jolt.
