View Full Version : Mountain Dew...the ultimate Caffeine Justice!
04-30-2003, 10:52 PM
I'll save the rant for later...or maybe just cut and paste it from IE.org...but I have very strong feelings about this most awesome of drinks...and was wondering your opinions.
04-30-2003, 10:54 PM
cheater!! this poll is rigged!!
04-30-2003, 10:57 PM
Whatever do you mean? I believe that the poll provides those who like Mountain Dew a variety of options to express their opinion...and those who don't like Mountain Dew to realize their faults. :D
04-30-2003, 11:00 PM
it's like a friggin Mountain Dew dictatorship! time to overthrow the caffeine regime!
DOWN WITH THE DEW!! REVOLT!! REBEL!! DRINK COKE!!
04-30-2003, 11:04 PM
Coke..coke...are you serious?
The drink that used to contain *cocaine*? The drink that is used to clean roadkill off of highways? The drink that's so old that it could tell stories of how it had to be rationed during the war?
Right...coke...there's a drink for ya....and bacon is good for your heart.
04-30-2003, 11:09 PM
as if Mountain Dew is any better... SUGAR WATER! That stuff could KILL ME! You think I'm kidding? Mountain Dew is the ultimate caffeine enemy of any hyoglycemic!! It's out to get us!
And you know what happens to sugar? It turns into FAT. You're gonna get fat.. mauaha
04-30-2003, 11:13 PM
you can't beat it
04-30-2003, 11:14 PM
A) It's hyPOglycemic...I think
B) Obviously, Mountain Dew is here to act as an evolutionary catalyst to filter out all those who cannot live life in a Caffeine Justice state of mind.
C) Sugar=Fat IF you don't use it for energy...but you do, and don't even have a choice, thanks to the marvels of CAFFEINE JUSTICE!
04-30-2003, 11:21 PM
yeah yeah... hyPoglycemic... my disease, lemme alone!
so, my fault for being born with it? mmm... so now, NOT ONLY is Mountain Dew disgusting and deadly, it's prejudice!!
DOWN WITH THE DEW!!
just b/c it is Mountain Dew DOES NOT mean you'll burn off all that sugar that quick. do you KNOW anything about sugar intake? how much? how fast? oh, I do. it is virtually impossible to burn all that right away. it'll settle... trust me
04-30-2003, 11:34 PM
UP WITH JOLT!!!
JOLT OWNS YOU!!!
05-01-2003, 12:04 PM
if you want the caffiene just drink quad shots of expresso that is were it is
05-01-2003, 02:34 PM
Hey, MovieStar...all I'm saying is that you should die if you can't drink Mountain Dew...don't blame the Dew, blame genetics!
05-01-2003, 06:35 PM
espresso not only tastes bad...
jolt is good.
I don't enjoy Mountain Dew...but I LOVE Code Red!!!! Should I vote for my interests in MD or CR?
05-01-2003, 06:44 PM
CODE RED ROCKS IT IS SO GOOD!
at CTY summer camp me and my friends bought multiple 24 packs of code red and we finished it all in like a week.
05-01-2003, 07:35 PM
**** yes!!! Code Red is the sacred elixir of God! (Or the non-specific religious deity if you're so inclined.) All hail the fusion of cherries and the great Mountain Dew! *downs a 20 oz bottle of Code Red* I've had entirely too much caffiene today...and it's al thanks to the wonderful liquid that is Code Red... *rambles on in the distance*
05-01-2003, 07:42 PM
code red is to a sherley temple like crack is to cocaine
05-01-2003, 08:41 PM
Code Red sucks my dick. . . It tastes like cough syrup and I like to call it "poser Dew."
Otherwise, Dew kicks ***; I live off it.
05-01-2003, 08:51 PM
this is completely and utterly DISGUSTING. the only thing i can grant the Dew is that it beats Sprite.
However, I'd SOOO buy 7UP b/c of their commericals. The Mountain Dew ones are dumb... 7UP is freaking hilarious.
05-01-2003, 08:56 PM
What 7up commercials have you been watching? Please they are so lame in comparison to Dew commercials.
05-01-2003, 09:16 PM
whatever!! "Do the Dew"???? please.
nothing can compare to "Make 7 Up Yours"
or the juicy fruit commercials.. those are freaking hilarious...
05-01-2003, 09:26 PM
Hmmm...let's see, guy shoving a TV into a bathroom or guy headbutting a ram. I'll take the latter. I do like Juicy Fruit commercials though, they amuse me.
05-01-2003, 09:28 PM
Hmmm...let's see, guy shoving a TV into a bathroom or guy headbutting a ram. I'll take the latter. I do like Juicy Fruit commercials though, they amuse me.You can't beat the guy flipping his trans-am to catch his Dew, and the golf cart jumping the green.
05-01-2003, 09:45 PM
please.... people performing "dangerous stunts" for a coke do not amuse me. they aren't anything overly special... kinda sad, really...
OO! i love the Dell Interns too!
05-01-2003, 10:04 PM
I have an idea lets just put this Mnt dew debate behind us then the site will truly be a peaceful place
05-01-2003, 10:11 PM
lol! ok.... let's move on to awesome commericals for companies.... fave commericials if you will.....
M&Ms (those are CLASSIC)
IBM (the yes man, genie lamp, etc)
Juicy Fruit gum
Taco Bell Dog ("Here lizard lizard!")
05-01-2003, 10:14 PM
i was always a big fan of the fosters commercials
05-01-2003, 11:02 PM
Beer commercials tend to be pretty sweet...I mean...remember the Budwesier frogs? And the lizards? Oh, dwam. And the Bud Ice penguin!
...Dooby Dooby doo...
05-02-2003, 09:51 AM
The Running of the Squirrels. That was fantastic.
05-02-2003, 02:49 PM
What was that one?
05-02-2003, 08:46 PM
SIERRA MIST IS PRETTTTY TITE COMMERCIALS!!!!!

05-02-2003, 08:49 PM
oh yeah others are like the budweisrer commercials
"well you see i really like your roomate ashley
"so date both of us"

"if your bald, what color do they put under hair color in your drivers lisence"
person 2:"maybe they just put not applicable"
person 1:"oh yeah..."
person 3:"um. i think they go with your eyebrow color"
FED EX MY FAVORITE!!!!!

woman: "thank you! that is very brave of you"
dirty man:"heh.. sooo. whats in the package anyway?"
woman: "OH nothing really, GPS locator, cell phone, box of matches, SEEDS, you know, silly stuff"
05-03-2003, 02:43 AM
Well, since it *is* a Mountain Dew thread...
I loved the one for Diet Dew, with the golf cart.
Man...that was some sweet cart-flippin' action...especially since it was GOLF cart-flippin' action...WHOO!
05-03-2003, 11:09 PM
i know this is a mountain dew thread but i love this chauvi commercial from AXE, you know the axe effext...where it's like "oh you noticed my breasts" and stuff...i just love it
back to the dew
i hate code red! there is only on true dew and that is the piss-colored one
05-03-2003, 11:13 PM
Hey! This forum is a place where dews of all denominations can gather in peace and harmony and celebrate their dewdom. No reason for slander against the red or green...let us all embrace our Caffeine Justice together!
Does Code Red have Yellow #5 in it? I know regular does, and it lowers your sperm count.
05-03-2003, 11:41 PM
well i (being female) don't really care about that..freud was not right about the penis envy here...but i think he would be mountain dew freak today.
05-03-2003, 11:43 PM
Basal...yes...and barely. If you still wanna get a girl knocked up, drinking a Mountain Dew won't stop ya. You'd need to inject the stuff directly into your...self...for it to have any significant effect.
05-03-2003, 11:44 PM
i wonder how you know that
05-03-2003, 11:57 PM
Well, because I've done it! DUH!
Not exactly. It's a pretty common old wives' tale...and it's also just not true. It *can* affect your sperm count, but not significantly enough to cause any kind of infertility.
05-04-2003, 02:00 PM
Hey, does anyone know where the SURGE craze went? (the REAL green soda.)
05-04-2003, 05:35 PM
I REMEMBER SURGE!! it was all the rage when I was in 5th grade... wow, 6 years ago? Everyone who was anyone drank it.... is it even still around? Right now the "cool green carbonate" is dnL (you know... the upside down 7up? )
05-04-2003, 06:20 PM
Surge is awesome...I still see it out and about every now and then. I remember in 6th grade we re-enacted a Surge commercial in Language Arts...I have no idea why. 'Tis fun...it was almost like Mountain Dew's protege. *sniffle*
What a second...whaddya mean the REAL green soda? MD was gettin' kids buzzed by the millions before Surge even had a can!
05-04-2003, 07:32 PM
mountain dew is SO yellow.
05-04-2003, 07:42 PM
Right...have you seen Mountain Dew?! 8) It's off the green hook, fo' sheezy. It's been green like Listerine since before Surge was born, man.
05-04-2003, 08:12 PM
NO ONLY THE CASE IS GREEN
pour it out man!
surge is truly green.
05-04-2003, 08:41 PM
You're not serious are you?
Look, it's not like "pine" or "Moss" green...but it's green. Maybe it's not even as green as Surge, who knows? The fact is...MD could still take Surge in a war of Caffeine Justice.
05-04-2003, 11:05 PM
MD is yellow-greenish but as for the 7upside down greenishness, i'm afraid not
05-04-2003, 11:12 PM
what? dnL is greener than MD! which is crazy... it used to be clear with a green bottle.... but now it's green with a clear bottle.... weird....
05-04-2003, 11:23 PM
there is no such thing as weird
05-04-2003, 11:23 PM
there is no such thing as weird
05-04-2003, 11:26 PM
05-04-2003, 11:33 PM
Sweet! And I just finished my report on Tourette's Syndrome. You are suffering from minor motor tics, which, if they persist for more than a year, could be diagnosed as Chronic Tic Syndrome, which can later be diagnosed as Tourette's! :)
05-04-2003, 11:43 PM
*does happy dance* yay, i have tics! i thought those were signs of my multiple personality shifts.
05-05-2003, 03:21 PM
That's also a possibility. Tourette's used to be (and still is occaisionally) misdiagnosed as Multiple Personality Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Schizophrenia, along with other disorders. You may have any of these! Yea!
05-05-2003, 11:38 PM
WOOOOOW. now i'm insanely happy.
05-05-2003, 11:49 PM
Back to Mountain Dew...has anyone tried this "LiveWire" business yet? It's orange, yet it's Mountain Dew...so I suppose it's okay. :) I was a little perturbed by Code Red when it first came out, but it grew on me. Does anyone know anything about this new orange stuff?
05-06-2003, 08:13 PM
I saw some show (20/20 i think...) a LONNNG time ago about caffinnee addicts, how they drink up to 3- 2 liter bottles a DAY and at least one 2 liter bottles a day and sometimes at partys they would finish.. many.. many many many packages of mountain dew.
05-06-2003, 10:43 PM
Is that Live Wire stuff the one that's supposed to be like Red Bull, an energy drink. It's in a tiny can.
I tried some of that when I was driving home from the Twin Cities (about 1.5 hrs away) at 4 in the morning. It seemed to keep me awake.
I have drank so much mountain dew in my lifetime that I am immune to most caffeine. But Mountain Dew is still the best soft drink ever...ever! Unless you're playing video games all night, or playing a 36 hour game of Risk, then you go for the Jolt. But they don't make Jolt anymore, and that saddens me.
The best time of my life, at least regarding mountain dew, was when Pepsi was putting out all the Star Wars cans, and I kept buying cases of Dew to try and find the Gold Yoda can, but it was no problem because I loved drinking all the Dew I had. On another note, worst time of that promotion, the Diet Pepsi cans.
05-07-2003, 04:34 PM
No, I don't think the LiveWire is supposed to like Red Bull...at least not packaging wise. The advertisement for it that I saw outside the gas station showed a bottle of mountain dew, just like any other, only it was orange instead of green, and had the word "LiveWire" written on it.
I think I know the drink you're talking about, though...Amp something or other. 'Tis nice.
05-07-2003, 06:28 PM
Yeah that was named Amp.
Orange Dew!!!! What!!!!
05-07-2003, 06:41 PM
Amp, red bull, all of those energy drinks rock.
u kno what else rocks??
SOBE!!!!! SOBE SOBE SOBE SOBE SOBE SOBE!!!
05-07-2003, 10:06 PM
Check THIS (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030225/nytu142_1.html) out.
It's true, it's true...and they are apparently only going to offer it for the summer...but I bet it'll catch on.
05-08-2003, 12:09 AM
Excellent!!! LIVE WIRE!!! Excellent!
In case any of you are of legal drinking age like me, Code Red is the Ultimate Mixer!!! It tastes good with anything!
05-08-2003, 12:31 AM
Oh yeah, great. Advertise good alcoholic mixing techniques on a HIGH SCHOOL DEBATE site :)...although sometimes I think there's quite a few here who may indulge a bit themselves, anyway.
05-08-2003, 02:14 AM
Well, there are a bunch of coaches who post on various boards, I'm sure more will come soon. But I in no way condone underage drinking.
Just had to put that disclaimer there.
MOUNTAIN DEW RULES!!!!!!!!!!
05-09-2003, 10:01 PM
in germany, underage drinking is drinking without your parents when you're under sixteen....i will never EVER understand american drinking laws.
05-09-2003, 10:02 PM
but then...germany has no mountain dew...none at all...that's where i don't understand german pepsi companies.
05-10-2003, 11:45 AM
Inga, the American drinking law is pretty simple...don't until you're 21. But many people *do* before.
05-10-2003, 12:05 PM
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT! MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to announce that Mountain Dew has, in fact, released Mountain Dew LiveWire in stores. I recently had the fortune of buying a bottle of this new soft drink last night. I will try to communicate its tastes into so many words.
Mountain Dew LiveWire is about 60% Mountain Dew, 40% generic orange soda. When it first hits your tongue, you expect it to become more and more sour the same way orange juice does, but actually, it never does this. It always keeps that same Mountain Dew consistency, but adds a hint of orange flavor along with it. The aftertaste leaves a bit more orange flavor to be reckoned with, as if coming back to say "Hello. Remember me?" It is a very interesting product to be sure.
Although I would give this product an overall positive review, for now I believe I will stay with the original Mountain Dew. LiveWire is certainly a great product, and this may be my "retro bias" as it were, but I believe that nothing can compare to the original Dew, even if created by the Dew Gods themselves.
05-13-2003, 04:45 PM
chewie needs to be a Mountain Dew spokesperson!
you know what's funny? in the poll, "i don't really like it" (in not so many words) is winning.... HAHAHAHA
05-14-2003, 01:53 PM
im gonna have to stick with the esspresso for my caffine needs. I love mnt dew its my favorite soda but it just doesn't get me going in the morning or keep me up late at night
Chewie, which is better: Code Red or LiveWire?
What does everything think of Bawls?
05-15-2003, 05:27 PM
coca cola has my vote! although i don't really have anything against mountain dew, i just like coke.
and forget code red (even though it isn't that bad, its better than mountain dew anyway)... HOW ABOUT, coke with grenadine... you know that stuff that is in shirley temples???
haha since everyone is also talking about caffeine, i once drank 8 of those 1.5 liter coca cola bottles in a day.... it was rough, i felt rather sickly for a coupla hours after that.
and also since we are also talking about 'crystallin drinks'- remember crystal pepsi?? when it first came out, i ignored it, but then one day i had some, and i loved it..... and then pepsi went and discontinued it.
This is not Jenn
05-16-2003, 04:16 PM
I spit at mountain dew
05-16-2003, 10:37 PM
well you know - i hate both code red and live wire
both suck big time
only the piss-color of md can fulfill my soda needs...i get my caffeine from pepermint tea
and except vanilla coke and md and dnL i don't drink soda
10-31-2005, 11:51 PM
Well, if any 2 year-dead thread deserves a bump, it's this one!
See if you can find where I call Ryan "Basal" :P
11-01-2005, 04:10 PM
I enjoy Pitch Black II heartily, but Code Red cannot be beat.
11-01-2005, 08:27 PM
What's the difference between Pitch Black I and II?
11-01-2005, 08:39 PM
I was good.
II was made of Win and God. It has an extra little kick of flavour.
12-07-2005, 08:01 PM
Pitch Black I just had a grape flavor to it
Pitch Black II has a sour grape flavor to it
Livewire is Orange
Code Red is Cherry
I am not prejustice against any Mountain Dew. I love all equally
12-09-2005, 07:30 PM
I have now experienced the joys of Bawls.
It is quite good. Very high caffiene.
bawls.com (the best part is the stuff you can say. for example:
Dad: "Get your Bawls out of the fridge!"
Me: "Dad, keep your hands off my Bawls!"
Mom: "SHUT UP!")
12-10-2005, 11:37 AM
Also worth mentioning. Buzzwater. It's just like water, only extremely caffeinated. The most potently caffeinated beverage. One half-liter bottle is equivilent to 6.5 cans of coke, or about 3 cans of Jolt.
Well, they use to have a pretty cool site, but now it looks like crap, but you still visit it if you want here (www.buzzwater.com)
09-01-2008, 10:53 AM
MOUNTAIN DEW IS DISGUSTING
09-01-2008, 01:09 PM
Its not the best pop, thats for sure.
