What were some of the best? What were some of the worst?

I honestly didn't see any good ones and the ones that I saw up until I dropped after quarters weren't so hot either. The worst were one called "Black-Male" which was one of the most racist speeches I have ever heard in my entire life. It was about how black kids should have black teachers, because essentially they can't learn properly from white ones. If this had been a white kid delivering this speech he would have been DQed. The thing that pissed me off the most was that he semi-ed. Arrrgh. There was one called "little red feminazi" and I thought it was incredibly stupid. This one boy did one about yoga, and proceded to fall on purpose in front of the room. Lets just say that even if it were an HI round he would have been overdoing it. Another girl gave this sob speech about Bangladesh and another one did hers on her grandmother and how she never got to say goodbye. It was vomit inducing.

My captain saw one that was four mintues long. It was about having friends and was apparently titled "Fruitcake". I'd like to say that I shall always remember his trying to tie his tie in the van while saying "Ah have fre-udns. Do you have fre-undhs?" Needless to say, it didn't break octos. :?

There was also this one in my 4th round that totally dissed oratory and orators and said how it was so useless and we were only trying brainwash other people. I was appalled.

I saw the Yoga speech in my Octas round... I believe that I could have made it out to Quarters if I had not screwed up my performance by trying to add some stuff in the last second... May I be an example to you all. Anyway.. Yoga guy didn't impress me much. He almost ruined his suit by falling on that nastified floor. I felt sorry for him... it looked like it might have hurt. And when you consider he did that at least 5 times.. he had to be bruised. Oh well. Later!

There was one called "little red feminazi" and I thought it was incredibly stupid. I hit this piece as well but don't really remember clearly what it was about. Please remind me. Did anyone see the 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City' oratory? Listing after listing of video game reviews from Gamestop.com and other sites just didn't work for me.

Holy ****! I saw that one and it was so horrible! That kid was in my third round and was just atrocious and pathetic.

I can not believe that the yoga boy actually made it out of prelims.

My speeches tend to never break six minutes. I have a problem getting out of the 4-6 minute range.

This may sound chliche, but try to throw in some interping...can be slapstick, can be meaningful, just get it in there!! and try some holds for laughs...If you wanna send me a copy of your OO on your comp(texaslonghorns@aol.com), I would be happy to help you elaborate in some spots. ^that's my aim too (minus the @aol.com part) but ya, If you feel like it, send it my way!
