i dont know if you are talking about the same telephone man dat i know.. hehehe if you are... i have this piece in like every single tourny i've been too and two different ppl... hehehehe neweiz its a good piece.. its about a kid who was taught to hate black ppl adn other races but learned that wat he learned is wrong... cute and great piece.. not sure if you are talking about the same thing tho.. coz it doesnt fit the prose and poetry name dont know...

hahhahahah i love the piece too.. esp the part dat says "way to go! way to go!" hahahahahah i think few more times and i'll memorize the piece.. hahahaha love it!

I actually preformed Telephone Man as a prose this year---- I love the piece.. It is by Chris Crutcher and can be presented as humerous or dramatic. I am in the Texas Forensics Association circuit and have won 4 of the 6 tournaments we have been to with this piece. People love it and I love to preform it--- I hope this helps! :D

I figure that i would say the peice is very powerful. The cutting that won emory i dont think could be done as a humorous peice, though there are funny parts. And by the way the guy who won emory took his piece this last weekend to nat. quals in di and won. But wont be doing it at nationals b/c he and his patner won duo so they will be in that event.

Yeah, I got beat buy Telephone Man at TN Quals a week ago, it was really good, he got 1st, I got 5th, crazy tough round.

Last year Telephone Man won 1st place prose at the Gatlinburg tourny. It was amazing! The guy that performed it (his name has slipped my memory) was in my semi round-he deserved the 1st place-it was wonderful! If anyone knows the guy let me know! :D

His name is Micheal Jones, he graduated from Brentwood Academy. If you thought his prose was good, you should have seen his duo (12th in the nation).

Im fortunate to know michael jones (as well as go to BA) and thats one of the few pieces that's made me flat out cry. the duo, with samantha stewart, was another one of them.
